My wife's perspective on politics

My wife is from a Central American country that was violently overrun by Marxists who, when in power, became just another strongman dictatorship. She is scared to death of Trump and thinks he's pure evil, if you listen to her, which is hard to do because on the rare occasions she will discuss politics she flies off the handle in a very emotional rant, yelling, and is incapable of listening to other viewpoints.

But I digress...

She thinks it doesn't matter what your party is or your stance on the issues. What matters is whether you are respected by others. And of course she thinks Trump is not respectable, therefore unfit for office.

Yet...

She gets her news from the MSM, watches The View, and when I tried to tell her the TV news was slanted Democratic and was a biased propaganda machine she looked at me like I had three eyes. She admits she knows little about politics, and demonstrates no comprehension of "the issues" (the ones I keep saying aren't important). So I don't know if that's good or bad. Because of the MSM's bias, she has never been exposed to the pure evil that is 0bama and Hillary, so she seems to think 0bama is respected around the world, therefore he's a good president.

My ex-wife came from a wacko liberal family. Although she outgrew most of that and became middle of the road she got involved in a battered women's shelter and reverted to pure stupidity. Emotions cloud issues and can destroy ones ability to reason.

I gave my wife a lesson in politics the other night, I was stuck watching Bachelor with her. I told her there didn't need to be a dozen or more episodes for the dude to make his pick....it's just like politics.

She of course asked hows that. I said all you need to do is line em all up in tight t shirts, hose em down and make your choice!

She said they have so many episodes so they get to know each other. Watching it I could clearly see it was smoke and mirrors, saying the right thing, cat fighting amongst the women, not close to real life. It would be a very enjoyable show if the woman weren't allowed to talk.

Just like politics they say what they think he wants to hear. And it isn't just woman. When it's Bachelorette with one girl and 20 guys or whatever it's the same thing, cept the T shirt idea don't work and not as fun to watch ya know.

My wife is from SE Asia raised under a dictatorship. She is so far right it hurts my neck. She can't stand lazy people and says people who work lazily are "sitting with pay." When we met she looked at my hands that were calloused at the time and reported back to her mom that I knew how to work. She values education AND hard work.

She knows more about the 3 branches of Government and the Constitution than a college graduate even though that may not mean much these days. She's hard core Christian and has said that Obama is the antichrist since the first time she saw him. She likes Trump because he knows how to run a business, has done something in his life, and doesn't take any crap (which is a big thing to her.) She said she would give him 4 years and if he didn't work out he's FIRED!

I'm just glad she likes me so far...
