The problems were brought on by non-supportive protesters resorting to illegal violent acts to intimidate the assembled Trump supporters who were there to support and encourage their candidate. Chicago style mob rule, pure and simple. The protesters brought violence; it was not brought initially upon them. These images harken back chillingly to the 1968 convention disturbances in Chicago.

p.s., Trump supporters don't hold allegiance to the GOP. This is about working independently within and with the grudging support of the GOP.

Not of the Republican Party, but of the electoral process. He is legitimately using the Republican Party to achieve the ends of the electorate who support him.

In this federalized republic of independent states, We the People elect our representatives.

I'll admit that Trump is not a republican (RINO). Trump is a Patriot. IMO, as the repub party now stands the elite majority appear to be republicans in name only. IMO, they appear to be no different than dems.

I really hope that no one here thinks that a run for President of the United States is only a game .... wrestling, nascar, basketball, etc ... where the ultimate goal is just to "win, win, win" a trophy, title or belt. Unfortunately, it seems, that's the level it's come down to for many "voters".
