Cruz would destroy Trump 1:1. But what would motivate Trump to do any more debates before the convention? I don't see the public clamoring for debates. Their attitude seems to be "enough already"

Not only that, now Kasich says he won't debate if Trump isn't. Evidently Kasich's campaign is run by morons who don't realize he could use some more exposure. Unless he's running just to siphon off votes from Cruz and be Trump's VP.

A few big losses to Cruz would be motivation enough for Trump to debate.

For the first time in our lives we have and opportunity to vote for someone other than Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum and some of you are willing to vote for an unknown quantity rather than for a rock solid conservative. You're like a woman who falls for a man with the bad guy image and then are surprised when you get slapped around. I just don't get it. Ted Cruz has always done what he says he's going to do and he's 100% on the side of conservatism. "The Donald" is a deal maker and some of his deals haven't been on the up and up. What of yours will he be willing to deal away? If your voting for Trump out of anger you'd be wise to give him a second look. Let cooler heads prevail. Our founding fathers cautioned us to always vote for the man of the highest moral character. Failing to do that will be the downfall of our republic.

At this point, Muggsy, since my next vote will be against either a power-lusting socialist or a useful idiot, I'll gladly vote for Trump or Cruz, either one. Whether Trump is a "bad boy" or whatever won't matter if he's the nominee. I'm confident he can beat Hillary. Worst case, we just switch to a new crime syndicate for four years.

There is starting to be talk that Cruz would beat Trump in a 1-1 debate and Trump is afraid. I doubt he is afraid but I am thinking if trump goes into the convention with Cruz the only other qualifying under Rule 40 (majority of delegates in 8 primaries) that "should" prevent the Kingmakers from bringing in Ryan as the nominee. If they start the rumble, Trump should make nice with Cruz and announce him as his choice for VP. Together they could stop the Kingmakers cold and I hope they do. They would make a good team. If Trump and Cruz tore into each other that would screw up my plan, so I hope they don't debate.

Turn that ticket around and even I would go for it. Trump is already issuing threats to the GOP about riots and going third party if he doesn't get the nomination . Shows you where his loyalties lie. No concern for the republican party. Trump winning is Trump's only concern.
