  • Could there actually be a wall separating Mexico? There already is....

No, Central America has not yet developed "Star-Trek-Style" Transporters allowing them to materialize inside America's border....
This means that Mexico is complicit, along with the corrupt Obama regime, and, of course, the Bush regime that preceded them.
It's yet another "inconvenient truth" courtesy of the gangsta-thug Mexican government, which offers temporary passes to those aliens south of their border, to transit thru Mexico and illegally cross into the US....(the illegals know the perils of overstaying their Mexican pass, by the way)

We were promised a wall when the corrupt Reagan administration passed an amnesty bill into law. It's been paid for twice by you the tax payer. Rome wasn't built in a day, but the wall hasn't been built since 1986.

Corrupt Reagan administration? You don't like anybody do ya? I heard Cruz has had 3 or 4 marital affairs. I don't take this into consideration because a marital cheater could still be a good president but still.

Doubt the forefathers you mention frequently would approve.

Not that we don't need to secure our borders.
        Today more than ever.
But IMHO the majority of illegal aliens are looking for work and to drop Anchor Babies on American soil.
Eliminate jobs, drivers licences, medical care, education and anything else they cross the border for.
Send illegal babies home with their illegal mommies.
And they will all go home willingly on their own dime.

        Problem Solved!

That Cruz story was fostered in the Nat Enquirer whose CEO is Trump's VERY close buddy David Pecker. In fact many people say "Trump loves Pecker." Not that there's anything wrong with that.
          Rest in peace Muggsy

Politicians promising to build a real wall on the border is a line as old as Methuselah. Promising to have the wall built and paid for by Mexico is ludicrous. Americans looking for cheap labor would fight it. Mexicans wanting to move drugs into this country would fight it. Few politician ever make this promise with the intent on keeping it. Given enough time, voters forget. I respect what our Border Patrol is trying to do but it's like trying to hold back the sea with a mop. From what I can see, the Mexicans have done a great job of building a wall on their southern border. They consider the people living south of them as undesirables so the Mexicans have complete control over that border. We should follow their example if only for our own self-protection.

We all know Muggsy hates Trump. But what man could dislike a fox like Mrs. Trump? Say it ain't so, Muggsy.

The California Brasero program worked very well. Mexicans could come up and work the farms, then go home. This makes sense. It helps determine who can and can't come into the country. It also puts the responsibilty for their hiring and behavior in the farmer's hands.

Now Mexicans are a voter base for the Demos.

Muggs, ol' bean, you're being inconsistent. On one hand you deride Trump, praise Cruz. Reason being mostly constitutional. Then you call the greatest constitutional president of the last ... what... 150 years or so, corrupt.

Being a legal immigrant myself, I really resent the illegals and the notion of open borders.

And I'd like to 'splain - I am a natural born US citizen (born at Fort Benning, Chattahoochee County Georgia - USA) - an 8th generation American with mostly German roots, some English & Swiss, plus a Frenchman in the woodpile (but we don't talk about that line much).

When I was in high school my Dad retired from the US Army, settling in Austin, Texas. Piddling around with a couple of jobs over the next year and a half (teaching & banking) he got his dream job working as a special assistant to the president of a prestigious engineering university on Mexico. As a result, we as a family emigrated down to Mexico, going through all the legal requirements & expenses (official & otherwise - bribes) to become permanent residents. My Dad always had a liking for Latin America - we had been stationed in Puerto Rico and traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, Panama, and Mexico in the '40s & '50s.
After a year of living down there however, the family didn't care for it as we missed Texas so much, so Dad moved us back to Austin. He continued in that job for 15 years while splitting his time between Texas & Monterrey.
The point being, there were a lot of strings attached to the process of emigrating to Mexico, but we met all legal expectations.

While I greatly sympathize with the poor folks from Central America & Mexico wanting to come up here to find jobs (and know that the vast majority of them are hard working decent people), they need to take the legal route to do so. My Brit & Canadian immigrant friends had to jump through all the US loopholes & expenses to get here legally, and they resent the border jumpers coming in illegally without much of a problem from the government.

However, I firmly believe that a legislative effort from congress should be made to enable those workers to obtain temporary work permits easily after a background check and allow very limited emergency health care (hurt on the job), but they have to go back home. No permanent residency except through the legal immigration policy. None of this "anchor baby" bs should be allowed.
