  • On Backing a Loser

If you're backing Trump you're backing a loser. His unfavorable ratings are the highest ever polled.

Trump is not getting my vote at this point and as for polls, polling IS NOT an exact science. I would not bet the house on polling numbers. Predicting the weather is more accurate than polling. If it should boil down to Trump vs. Clinton, I would vote for Trump. I have already had the Clinton's up to here.

Oh I wouldn't be concerned about that. I read another poll that has Trump at a 100% FAVORABLE rating. That poll is as meaningful as yours.

Ted Cruz, 37% unfavorable rating! I heard him on the radio talking about Trump's hair, like he was doing a stand-up comedy act. Is that your ideal candidate? Making hair jokes about the opposition? Where's Mr. Constitution? Why are the news outlets All Trump All the Time?

If Trump somehow wins the nomination on the Republican side (sounds like the GOP cards are stacked against it though) he gets my vote. The alternative would be worse IMO as it would be a Democrat. Trump has faults for sure but he also has said a lot of things that resonate to voters that are so tired of business as usual politicians. The same thing seems to be happening on the Democratic side with Bernie who would probably win if not for the asinine Superdelegates they have that have already committed to Clinton even in states that haven't even voted yet!

Why can't everyone focus on keeping the real lunatics out of the White House. I hate this "fratricide" in the Republican candidates that sickens everyone and makes a lot of people just stay at home.

We need to keep the Socialists and worse out of the White House and the Supreme Court. 4 more years of this anti-American, PC, Socialist/Progressive crap and this country really is doomed. Stay-at-home disillusioned voters are going to be the undoing of our country. You must fulfill your duty as a Citizen to vote for the best coice... the one that will do the least harm and the one who has a real chance to win against the LEFT. That means voting for the Republican front runner whether your concerns are conscience, religious, secular, or whatever. There will be no "perfect" candidate. Sitting the election out only enables the Left and more and worse than the last 7+ years. This will affect all of us and you can't hide at home when "they" really get going with all the things they would like to do. You have to survive this secular world... the one you live in now... or let it become a real hell on earth.

People who choose not to vote because their pet candidate didn't make it, or the ones left don't espouse a certain cherished belief, or just don't like someone, are going to throw the baby out with the wash water... allow this country to become another Socialist Utopian Experiment... as has ALWAYS failed... for the people... maybe not the "elites" at the top.

Hillary has a LONG record of dishonesty and corruption... and treasonous, murderous behavior... and too many people thinks she's experienced enough... or has a vagina! So, they'll vote for her... as they did for the nice black man... the one who clearly grew up under the influence of Islam and Socialism and, yes, Communism.

So stay at home with your selfrighteousness and wait for the Socialists to strip you of everything meaningful and limit your income and medical care as they will, because as you get too old to be of "use" to them, they will stop wasting the ever-dwindling resources keeping you and dissidents alive.

Gloom and doom... more on the way.

This is the primary .... the time we should bicker amongst ourselves to choose a candidate that eventually will become our nominee ..... debate of and vetting the candidates thoroughly is necessary. Don't forget, "thu wun" was NOT vetted at all but the dems and the media trotted along with "the movement" and rhetorical promise of "hope and change"...... TWICE! That was because we, collectively speaking, didn't support the (less than desirable) candidates in either election cycle. Hopefully, this time around, we will have learned a valuable lesson from the dems and aggressively rally around whoever "our" nominee is. We will have a good four months after choosing our nominee to build the "movement".

For a loser, Trump is doing pretty damned well so far, I'd say.

Trump has done well and others should take note in the GOP on why. I'm not sure what I'll do honestly if the GOP pulls some kind of underhanded crap and put in a candidate at a brokered convention that either hasn't been in the race at all or someone that was so far back on the popular vote that the only reason they're still in is their hope to get picked at a brokered convention! I like a lot of what Trump has said - although not the way he says it. I doubt that he'd be a good president since he's so polarizing of a figure and too prone to hold his tongue when even he has to know he should

Give it up Muggsy. Your not going to change any Trump supporter's mind.

BTW, I am not one, but in the general election I will vote for anyone but Hillary.

Trump appeals to a minority of the losers and ne'er-do-well of this country. He draws about 35% of the vote and about half of those are crossover democrats. They're disgruntled voters who allow emotion to overrule their thinking. Their voting for Trump because of his charisma just like the democrats who voted for Obama, because of his charisma. He says what they want to hear and they eat it up. Many of them are the same people who sat out the last election, because Romney wasn't conservative enough. Four years after Cruz is sworn in no one will admit to having been a Trump supporter.

Really, John? It's okay for Trump to insult every republican presidential candidate, but no one should say anything about Trumps comb over. Give me a break. Are you saying that Trump can dish it out, but he can't take it. He's lied about Cruz lying. Lied about Cruz having an affair. Portrayed Cruz's wife in a bad light and Cruz isn't allowed to respond. Can you say double standard John? I'm surprised that Cruz hasn't punched Trump in his foul mouth.

You're trying to use logic, but you're dealing with a lot of people whose opinions are set in concrete. Might I suggest a jackhammer. Why not? it's what Trump uses every chance he gets. Obviously, I'm not speaking of all Trump supporters - Some are people who believe what Trump says, or doesn't say, or just hints at. All I'm saying is that the minds of most of these people will not be swayed by logic or facts. After all, consider the there are quite a few Democrats that still think Sanders has a chance of the nomination. On the off chance that Hillary is indited, I guess I can vote against Warren in November.
