  • A Time for Choosing

I would like everyone of you who supports Donald Trump to ask yourself if this speech by Ronald Reagan sounds anything like what you've been hearing from "The Donald". It sounds more like what we've been hearing from Ted Cruz if you've bothered to listen.

Muggsy, at this point, I don't want any of them. I'm just trying to figure which way screws us less. I don't think Cruz is the answer. He's a pandering, shape shifter.

It's really academic. Neither can get enough delegates to get the nomination without a miracle happening. I am on hold to see what happens in the convention as the "establishment" doesn't want either. Could be exciting. By the way, if it makes any difference I easily prefer Cruz over Trump but Kasich is holding on for some reason???? Saw Priebus say it would be one of the three???? Rules committee is going to meet next week???? Lots up in the air right now.

I'm afraid I have this problem..

ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION: the inability to become
aroused over any of the choices for President put forth
by either party in the 2016 election year.
"If we ever forget we are one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under." Ronald Reagan

I don't understand how you can say that. If you know anything about the man he has been consistent in his views for years. He isn't pandering. What he says is what he believes and what he says he'll do he does. I think that you need to take a better look at the man only this time wear your glasses.

This is just one of the things I like about Cruz. I saw this on Facebook:

Second Amendment Supporters for Ted Cruz

If you are from Houston you may remember, as many of us do, when two young girls, Jennifer Ertmman and Elizabeth Pena were walking home one evening and were abducted, brutally raped and murdered. The man was caught and tried, found guilty and sentenced to death.

The perpetrator was living in the US illegally at the time of his crimes. A few years after the verdict, The United Nations, the World Court, along with 60 countries declared that Texas had violated the perpetrator's rights by not informing him of his right to contact his consulate. George Bush and Secretary Rice ordered Texas to release him to keep peace with the U.N.
The parents of those girls, the citizens of Texas and indeed most of the nation were shocked and devastated that such an evil predator would go free.
Greg Abbott was the state attorney general at the time. One of his junior attorneys went all the way to the Supreme Court to argue that the decision to extradite the perpetrator was a violation of Constitutional law and US Sovereignty.
This attorney argued the Constitution clearly states that the United States was a sovereign nation and no other nation had jurisdiction over our laws. 60 countries had representation on the Supreme Court floor and were there arguing against this one lone attorney from Texas.
The case was Medlin vs. Texas.
In the case, the Bush administration cited a U.N. International Court of Justice ruling in 2008 that 51 Mexican illegal immigrants on death row in Texas had been deprived of rights because they were not allowed to seek assistance or advice from the Mexican consulate after they were arrested.
The stay of execution and extradition order from the U.N. court arrived only weeks before Texas was scheduled to administered a lethal injection to Jose Medellin, the Mexican national, living in the US illegally, justly convicted of raping and murdering these two girls in Texas.
The Texas attorney fought for U.S. sovereignty against the delegates of 60 foreign nations, and the Federal Government of the United States, and the UN to ensure the supremacy of the U.S. legal system against encroachment by international treaties and rulings of a World Court.
In a 6-3 ruling, the U.S. Supreme Court determined the decisions of the International Court of Justice were not binding in U.S. courts. The justices said the president of the United States had no authority to impose U.N. court decisions to reverse or otherwise amend decisions reached by a duly constituted and administered Texas state criminal court.
The Texas attorney won the case against the Federal government, the UN, 60 nations and the world court - and Texas executed Jose Medlin for his brutal crimes in 2005.
That junior attorney was Ted Cruz.

yep, there's just so much that the "uninformed voters" do not know about Ted Cruz. Actually, I believe you'll find that case was a 10th Amendment case for the State of Texas. His participation in the big recent 2A case was "huuuuuge", and his 1A involvement concerning protection of religious "speech" was also "amaaazing", and several other Constitutional wins before the SCOTUS. His entire adult life has been dedicated to upholding and protecting the Constitution .... the reason those of us Texans that stay informed sent him to D.C., and the main reason he hasn't made many friends with the rinos and moderates in the Senate. He's hard core devoted to see that the fedgov operates under the Constitution as it was intended.

That's why I like him. I believe in the Constitution and the LIMITED federal government that it established. The political class has become the royalty that we cast off in favor of freedom. Now the self-deemed-elite political class sits around all day thinking of ever more ways to limit our freedom and more ways to take our property and wealth to spend as THEY see fit... enriching themselves and enabling their "magnanimous" acts of giving away our wealth to buy votes and further their own careers. They are not OUR representatives, but a cancerous growth that needs to be excised.

My Wife and I watched a John Stossel episode tonight... the Libertarian Debates! It's too bad that we can't have a Libertarian as our next president... someone who believes in freedom and LIMITED government... without giving the presidency over to Hitlary or whomever the Dems wind up with as their candidate.

I don't trust Kasich and Trump is too childish, for lack of a better word... immature... narcissistic... whatever. He doesn't even bother to school himself in any of the topics or concerns that most Conservatives and Republicans have. What's a Triad and what do we think about abortion... or Israel... crazy... ignorant!

Very Well said. I have said those 2 things right there for years. Spending time overseas was an eye opener to what to really watch out for in governments.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
