Let's hope so Mr. Bert. Trump is doing his best to split the party. Run as an independent my behind. Why is it that the primary process isn't unfair when he wins?

Good point. I voted for Mitt and I still think that he would have made a good president. He's a man of strong moral character. Obama has the character of a rattle snake that's been stepped on.

I did too thinking he would be good. But his actions during this campaign have made me wonder. Accusing Trump of not paying taxes with no proof, when Prince Hairy did the same thing to him? "Goes ta show ya never can tell!" (Chuck Berry.)

              I'll go along with that.

BTW, I thought Eisenhower was too liberal in 1952, and I was only eight years old. I've also been conservative for a while.

I'm not well acquainted with Ike, but he sure built a nice interstate highway system.

He was Roosevelt's favorite boy. I remember folks referring to him as a "pinko".

my folks had a '55 when I was a kid, then I scored a '57 when I turned 16 ... two of the greatest classics of all time. I had planned to keep that '57 forever until a senile old woman ran a stop sign and t-boned me driver's side within little more than a year. I've missed that car since 1970

Mt claim to fame was a 53 Ford Club Coupe with a flathead V8 that I ran in D gas at the local digs. Offey heads, a trips manifold with Stromberg 97s and a McKellar cam. I got my door blown off by the Ramchargers team running a Dodge Dart slant 6. That's when I bought my 68 Chevelle SS 396.

I had a Plymouth Valiant Slant 6. It was a junker I used for a work car so my Vette didn't get banged up in the parking lot. When you pulled the Park lever down to put it in Park all the plastic transmission push buttons came off their metal tangs and fell inside the dashboard. I got real good at fishing them out and pushing them back on. The slant of the engine was to the right as you sat in the car. The distributor and everything requiring maintenance or replacement was under the slant rather than above the slant on the left side, so working on it was a pain.

One day I was holding the driver's door open to let my Labrador climb in the back seat. Then I noticed he was struggling and couldn't get in. His front paw had gone thru the floor of the back seat to the driveway. He was trying to pull it back out. The Valiant went to the boneyard right after that.

That must have been when they came up with the idea of putting the oil filter on the firewall side of the engine on front wheel drive cars. What a pain too.
The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
