Probably around June 25, 1962. For what it's worth, here's the link to an article that explains the impact America suffered from kicking God out of of school.

I thought that it was after JFK was killed and Johnson took over the presidency to start his "War on Poverty" with his "Great Society". LBJ started the destruction of the nuclear family with the condition that welfare assistance was dependent on there being no father in the house.
He also escalated the Vietnam War and squandered a lot of the "cream of our youth" by cherry picking targets of no consequence so as not to antagonize the Russian, North Koreans, or the Chinese, when he could have blockaded the ports receiving weapons and supplies from those countries. All of that war material could have been destroyed before it could have been used.
The way he conducted the war and did not allow the military to win it, and the ensuing losses with more and more "resources"... lives and money thrown into the grinder, started the rift in our country over the increasing waste of lives and money. Walter Cronkite really accelerated the national turmoil over the war when he pronounced that we had lost the Tęt Offensive in 1968... when the truth was that the fighting capability of the Việt Cộng and the NVA had been all but destroyed... "snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory".
My family was very poor, but I got a good education and missed out on the Progressive indoctrination that our children have been subject to for several generations now. Look at the "snowflakes" and their expectations of "safe spaces", free college, and high paying jobs on graduation. Competition is bad and Capitalism is bad and the government will take care of you. Our population has been dumbed down by punishing those who would excel and work hard to succeed... and rewarding mediocrity... everyone gets a trophy.
This is not everything, but a few of my favorite peeves... it's 3:17 AM and I just awoke from a nap while awaiting the lottery results. I need to get back to bed... only got $8 and a "free" ticket for my troubles... not a great return on the $18 "invested", but better than most nights.USAF Retired '88, NRA Life Member. Daniel's pining about the way it was is pretty spot on. And we've definitely slipped...a lot. But I cannot think of any other country where people are better off. Despite how far we've devolved, we're still number one IMHO. Our challenge is to restore America to greatness...not to the greatest. We have a lot of work to do.O|||||||O

Really guys? Y'all think that there was a definitive time when things went bad---as if there was a time in our history when things were just 100% peachy? There were always struggles and turmoil in our nation's short history. I never understood that idea of getting back to when our country was great concept. If you are speaking about GNP, innovation, and technological advances, then I would somewhat agree; however, those are tangible measurable things. If you automatically use these parameters as a barometer for how great we are/were, then your judgment of greatness might be a bit myopic. Greatness is relative.
Instead, I embrace the fact that we were never perfect or the greatest, but take great solace in knowing that we have a system of government where change is possible and a level playing field can be established for all to pursue life , liberty and happiness. This ideology has never been 100% realized in the history of our country, but as B4uqzme said. "we have a lot of work to do".I am the Living Man
