  • Why not Gary Johnson?

Gary Johnson aligns most closely with my own political views. Lots of people think Donald Trump is a tool. I'm included in that group. Hillary Clinton? Uh, no.

With all the dislike for the presumptive candidate in each of the major parties why isn't GJ getting more support?

3rd party candidates have traditionally had a hard time being taken seriously. And money. Hard to get any traction without big donors behind the candidate. And the Rs and Ds know how to raise money and line up donors!

I get that part of it. But I don't think there has been an election where so many people would look for someone to vote for besides their own party's nominee. But I guess the easier alternative is to stay home.

Doing ANYTHING but voting for the Republican nominee is aiding Hillary. Third party runs gave us the Clintons the first time by splitting the vote. The Dems will have enough votes no matter what happens... 40+% in their pockets. All they need is a little help from people not voting for the other major party. Protest votes, staying home and the like are votes for the status quo... Hillary for sure.

You are right about a third party and this election. If the Libertarian party gets( I think it is 5%) of the gen vote. The party is eligible for Fed funds the next election go around. Hopefully, they can then compete with the big 2. Perhaps then they can buy their way into the debates too. Most people do not know there is truly a 3rd party candidate out there. Abolish the IRS? Smaller G? Sounds good to me.

I get that too. But by doing that, we will never have a third party to break the stranglehold the dems and repubs have one our system. Neither seems to want to do what needs doing IMO. When is the right time to change that?

I vowed to stay out of the political section but I'm weak.
I think it's too late for a third party run this go round. Just not enough time to make anything but splitting the vote and taking away from Trump.

My main and only real desire in life at this point is to not see Hillary as president. If she wins and sadly I'm pretty sure she will we're doomed. Really doomed. We were doomed when the current poser in chief took office but if she takes over it's over for us.
I'm sure she's just chuckling to herself already with all the new gun control stuff going on now. She'll play on that for 8 years. Fill the Supreme Court with the worst possible judges. Makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth just thinking about it.

seems some of the GOP are softening on the 2A. I see ammo shortages and gun buying frenzy coming to your neighborhood soon.

Oh yeah! For Sure! And as usual me near living in a cardboard box under a bridge with no pre frenzy buying cash.

Was hoping to get an AR and an AK before the panic but again for the 3rd or 4th time now I don't think it's gonna happen.

At least with the armory here at work I got access if the need ever arises. And I think it will soon. Just a TMan prediction but I see it a coming.

It's a shame that there really isn't an opportunity for a third party in this country. I too align well with Mr. Johnson. But he has zero chance of winning. That puts us in the sad position to vote for Trump just because (Wynn is 100 percent correct) doing otherwise is just a vote for Hillary. But I say give him a chance. He just may surprise us. The worst Trump is still way better than the best Clinton.

I agree, to late. It's to bad they did get out early with a alternate to tweedle dee or tweedle dum. At this point the sheeple who are clueless will vote for the D or R only.

I'd like to see Bernie Sanders make a run as a third party candidate and split the Dems.

I like this idea very much.

I gotta look up the aging idealistic Gary Johnson, I have no clue who that is.

Hope his boobs aren't too big.
