  • Different responses to terrorism?

I guess I just don't get it. The response to terrorism abroad, like the bombing in Turkey, is something on the order of "we will do whatever it takes to hunt down and stop terrorism" yet domestic terrorism, like Orlando and San Bernardino the response is "guns bad, must ban guns". Shouldn't the response be the same regardless of where the terrorism occurs? Actually thinking about it, shouldn't the response to domestic terrorism be stronger? I don't have any answers, but I do know that our current response to domestic terror attacks isn't working.

    My rant for the day.

I feel your pain and share your thoughts my brother.

In the USA, our damn Congress and Administration see it as a criminal act rather than an act of war that it is. Commit terrorism in the USA, get shot on the spot, no harm no foul!

I was thinking the same thing! In Istanbul it's a terrorist attack. In the US it's a mass shooting.

I wonder about the RKBA in Turkey? If guns are already heavily restricted and the terrorists were still able to get guns, then it doesn't fit the "narrative" that guns are the problem.

We have 5 more days of the Ramadan season. I think it's going to be a high body count season. Still can't understand why the Islamic men want that many virgins. Give me a dozen very experienced prostitutes and I'm good.

The bombs in Turkey killed some Muslims, that's why the terrorists must be hunted down and exterminated. The Orlando guy killed Americans, so meh.

In the Islamic "code language" terrorism is what infidels to to Muslims. What they do to us is holy.

Listen closely at how our Dear Leaders parse their words.

Get them all out of the US, sadly the good (Who Say nothing, when they know something have to go as well)
If you can't sort 'em out, flush them all out.

              Enough tolerance already.

I say until they treat us as individuals we don't treat them as individuals. To them, apparently, all us infidels are radicals to be blown up and beheaded and there are no peace-loving Westerners. So fok them and the camel they rode in on.

Flash back to mid Sept, 2001 and see what was said about terrorism happening in this country.

Seems the only real change I'm aware of is who currently resides at 1600 Penn. Ave.

I still wonder what it would have been like if FDR had said the attack on Pearl Harbor was by extremists and he'd have the FBI investigate it as a crime scene. And that we had to act like the Japanese were peace-loving people and the planes were flown by radicals who had nothing to do with the cult of the rising sun.

Here, it is not terrorism, it is "gun violence", and must be dealt with by removing guns from the hands of the people. Lester Holt of NBC news called Malala Yousafzai of Pakistan a "survivor of gun violence". So an assassination attempt by the Taliban is an act of "gun violence" now. I guess we need to create a law banning the Taliban from owning guns, you know, to stop the gun violence. BTW, that was/is the last time I will ever watch Lester Holt on NBC.

Totally agree. Lester Holt, Matt & Savannah, Katie and others. Libtard clown shows. Quit watching NBC (Nothing But Clinton), ABC (All aBout Clinton), and CBS (Clinton Broadcasting System) a long time ago. Still watch CNN (Clinton News Network) once in a while when I need a good laugh.

Hmmmm my dad years ago ... When the first plane was hijacked on american soil said that they should have stormed the plane and executed the hijackers on the spot. He felt it would prevent future attepts at the same thing. That statement has always stuck with me and I'm finding i agree with his thinking more and more as the years pass...

I've always liked Archie Bunkers idea of the airlines passing out .38's to everybody when they get on the plane and take them up when they land which keeps everybody polite during the flight....Works for me
