Secession from the Union

I have read in the last two days that California and Oregon have taken steps to secede from the Union.

Let them go.

They should form a new country, since they share a border.

They can call it Califonigon - fitting.

And to them, I say, don't let the door hit you in the ass, as you leave.

Maybe when they build the wall between us and Mexico they could make a 90 degree turn and go right up the Commiefornia border. I think it would be a good idea whether the secede or not. Maybe even make a little jag in the wall to include Las Vegas.

Look at the voting away from the cities. Yep, heavily conservative. Unfortunately, 65% of residents live in the cities...

if they are talking the State of Jefferson then most on this board would want to live there. From what I remember reading, it would be the kind of place where people can live free. IIRC it aint your typical Kalifornia......my 2 centavos. Im for it!

Here in upstate NY, we wish NYC would secede, too. Other than a few urban counties, the rest of the state would love to be free of the city's voting power.

Mods are politely tolerating our political threads. Thanks guys. I hope no one takes advantage and spoils it. Maybe if we can prove our civility, re-opening the politics thread might not be a bad idea after all? That way those who want to avoid them can do so easily.

Far as I know the mods aren't doing anything. We certainly don't screen without letting people know.

It's marked politics on my computer and the thread started in November.

I'm not sure if you can still add to the existing threads or not. I'm confused myself.

We're all adults if somethings going on that John doesn't want going on, everyone will know. No behind the scenes editing or screening.
