This is my first posting here. I choose to not carry openly as I regard surprise a main element of distancing myself form the threat without being seen by the perp in a crowded place, i.e. Mall, Starbucks, wherever.
Methods of engagement can be sought, should you feel it necessary, if you are not the center of attention. I have spoken to owners that post the "gun unfriendly" signage. They do not know whether or not I am carrying but I make it very politely, and sincerely, known that I will not be back to that establishment as long as signs remain. The sign indicates "Victims here" and I am not comfortable there. Some of them have agreed but there have been quite a few that refused to remove them, which is their right to do. I have had some business cards made that I give them that simply states, "It is indeed, in fact, your right to not have persons armed in your establishment. With this in mind it is also my right to NOT do business in your establishment. Have a nice day". I simply walk out and that is the end of it.
