That notch in the rail is supposed to be there

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
    --Thomas Jefferson (1764).

That is EXCELLENT. Couple of points though.

    1. using the 'sporting use' argument they did later in the slides is similar to the hunting argument. we need to stop doing that. I understand their point and appreciate the quote that 1300 people competed w/ one. they should at least have clarified that those 1300 people have not gunned anyone down.

    2. calling the AR the modern 'musket' is OK I guess, but in reality, many individuals in colonial America had BETTER weaponry than the colonial army and in some cases better than the british. so to argue we should be hampered even by only having semi-automatic equipment is just dumb.

    3. they really need to start publishing some ballistics information about the dangers of over penetration of handgun rounds and the fact that something like an AR could (in some ways) be considered a BETTER home defense firearm. I can guarantee that if your anti-gun neighbor knew the difference, they'd probably prefer you had an AR over a 9mm handgun.

Enjoyed the Factual presentation. If only "Real Facts" meant something to the Left these days! Thx for sharing.

Never let the facts get in the way of a proposed gun ban. Appeal to fear and consequence. Make villains those you oppose you. Even if you lose you will have fought the good fight. When things look darkest issue an executive order.
Never trust anyone who doesn't trust you to own a gun.

Thanks, I'll be sending this to lots of people.
It should explain a lot to the "low information people".

Me, too. Everyone needs to see it. A large portion of the American public have been thoroughly brainwashed by the false concept of "assault weapons." Earlier today, as they were talking about a possible assault weapon ban on the local TV news, they were showing a video clip of an M16 shooting in full auto.
            Very interesting...
