Sadly, that doesn't surprise me at all. The whole time I was reading I couldn't help but to think to myself "Thank the good Lord I don't live there"
No sir, I do not own any guns. I sold them all in fear that they might grow legs and murder me and my family since they've been portrayed as such evil objects by our current administration

The moment I read Obummer state "I will not take your guns away".
Was the moment I became truly afraid.

This. I'm a member of both the NRA and Gun Owners of America. You may not agree with either 100%, but these are the guys that have voices big enough to fight for our rights and they need all the help we can give them

Thanks. Passed it on to my brothers both of whom are retired LEO. Brother Bob is a retired NYC Detective and is very active in a number of police organizations. He along with others are trying to at least get retired NY police and HR 218 holders exempt from the forthcoming NY State gun control laws.

It is crazy to me that they didn't have some amendment or provision included for police officers.

So LEO's have to carry 7 rounders now? I bet that gets changes quickly.

I am a resident of NY State but as of June 28 I am moving when I retire. I already sent my messages to the leaders of NY State telling them they finally won between taxes and gun laws and that I am moving.:israel:

Bravo! Good for you! May God bless you, your family and the people HE has chosen.

I see you're waving the flag of Israel so I'm going to make the assumption that that is where you're moving...

Think it was in 78 that I visited and toured Israel. I remember one afternoon stopping at a park near where the Sea of Galilee. Watched a family unload their car a picnic. Husband gets out with, I have to assume, wife daughter and son. Father is open carrying a sidearm. Family sets up for their picnic and son, I'd guess about 15-16, goes back to the car and pulls what I kinda remember as a small carbine. The gun had sported a single point sling, the kid loops it over his shoulder and goes back to join his family for the picnic.

Some of the other tourists I was with were uncomfortable with all the weaponry openly carried by military and civilian alike. Me as a former Marine actually felt more comfortable.

Don't kid yourself for a minute. There are democrats and a few liberal republicans who think just like those in NY democrats in every state in the union.

This may be true, but I can guarantee you it wouldn't fly in Tennessee

Yeah, that's what happens when a bunch of corrupt NY politicians cook up a deal overnight in a back room in Albany. Without any public notice or comment on the legislation, these rocket scientists forget to exempt LEOs from their moronic fantasies.

But let's think about this a bit. Why exempt the police from the new law? Well, because we obviously don't want to put the cops at a disadvantage against the bad guys. ...(wait for it)... But it is apparently OK to do that to the regular law abiding citizens trying to live their lives without being savaged by soulless sub-human scum (I'm speaking here about bad guys, not the politicians).

All so Cuomo (rhymes with Bozo) can try and be the next President. It's a good thing he IS a soulless sub-human scum, otherwise the blood on his hands might make him feel a little bad about himself from time to time. But I'm sure he's really a great guy who's just misunderstood.

Might be a good idea to limit the NYPD to 1 Barney round....If you remember the Empire State Bldg shooting last summer the shooter killed one guy at his old workplace and was shot and killed by the NYPD along with them wounding about 8 other innocent citizens who got in the way of the cops spray and pray free fire zone.....Give those boys a roll of quarters and let them practice at the video arcade!!!!

Speaking from experience being in NYC, they take what they can get, and no doubt affirmative actions plays a roll as well. All joking aside I saw a police officer in Times Square, hair in corn rows with uniform pants sagged....I was an officer at that time, where we had very strict dress code/uniform inspections and was just in disbelief....until my friend tried to get me to move up there, saying I could be a cop too....they start at $25,000 a year......
