Afraid to Purchase More Guns - Lib. Ins.

A NRA emailing alerted me to Connecticut's Insurance and Real Estate Commission voting to propose legislation to require all firearms owners to purchase liability insurance. Don't know if a Bill will indeed come to fruition and be passed but it does have me concerned. I'm afraid that such insurance will be very expensive and it just might cost more the more firearms you own. I'm reluctant to even entertain the thought of any additional firearm purchase until this issue shakes out.

Any thoughts on the subject of a state requiring firearms liability insurance?

About 15 years ago I bought an umbrella $1,000,000 liability policy from State Farm.

That might cover some a-hole lawyer's fees.

I think the NRA offers insurance. Even umbrella policies that cover lots of stuff beyond guns, aren't very expensive.

The people WITHOUT guns should be paying insurance since they are the ones encouraging the crimes...

Your homeowner insurance covers this already. If there were any factual statistical evidence that showed insurers that they were losing money for covering gun owners then you would already be making note your guns on the policy and paying more.

Now that said, if some politican wants to make it a law for you to pay more while the insurers risk remains exactly the same... Well I'm sure the insurance companies will vigirously support those politicans right to speak out (and support their re-election campain).

It's all a scam, disguised as the gun control debate. Stand up and call it for what it is.
