Wisdom reigns. Good jury. Defending one's life is still allowed.
Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Common sense prevails, the state could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

Good for him. Just because I believe he's guilty (manslaughter, not 2nd degree murder), I'm glad it worked out this way.

In this situation, his actions were based on his own beliefs and suspicions... in which case a prison sentence would not have been a proper punishment.

But I think this whole process will have given George a moment of pause... maybe taught him a bit more restraint and forethought going into future situations.

        Time served, George.

I'm glad it worked out this way because based on state law the prosecution didn't prove anything.

          He's still screwed financially.

          I'm glad it's all over.

Z may have been guilty of something but not 2nd degree murder or manslaughter. The court did everything possible to help convict him including lessening the charge in the middle of the trial. Trying to appease the masses so to speak. Didn't work. For once common sense prevailed.
            I'm glad it's over too.

He is free from state prosecution, but his life is still in danger, he will have to relocate and create a new life, this is after what I assume will be a civil trial.

How much money was spent on this? How far back have race relations been set due to this mockery of justice? The police let him go after the altercation, that should have been the end of it, but the Race Baiters saw an opportunity to get some publicity, and stir people up, over the murder of this poor innocent "child". If I was Z I think I'd leave the country and go to South America somewhere. First I'd sue NBC for the doctored 911 tape, and Rev Al, and Jesse, for slander and putting his life in danger. Martin's parents will probably drag him through court, they seem like they are out to make as much money as they can from the tragedy. They've trademarked his name, and already settled for a few million from the Homeowners association. My black friends are pissed off at me, because I didn't join in the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the verdict was announced. What a screwed up mess.

                  I had thought the same thing but;
"A University of Miami law professor tells BuzzFeed that
“Stand Your Ground” will probably keep George Zimmerman from facing a civil trial."

announced after the verdict that the organization would pursue civil rights charges with the Department of Justice."

He should have never been been on trial to start with. He defended himself against an attacker that had already broken his nose and was pounding his head into the concrete sidewalk. That's what the evidence showed, that's what the jury saw, and justice prevailed in spite of all of the race baiters and politicians trying to make it something it wasn't, in order to advance their own interests.

Yep, now they're gonna hit him with profiling or hate crime. It's pure bull. I think I'd leave the country if that starts if I were him.

It ain't over. The Feds are considering prosecuting Zimmerman for a hate crime and Trayvon's parents are considering a civil suit. The liberal forces in the government won't rest until Zimmerman is convicted for something. Racist blacks won't rest until they get their pound of flesh. It never was a prosecution. It became a persecution when politics became involved in the legal process. If our president had a son he'd look just like Travon.

I'd think they'd have a problem prosecuting a hate crime, after all the work Z has done with black children, and organized a demonstration against police for beating up a black man. I think he hated thieves, but that's about it.
A black commentator asked the question, Mr. President, if you had a son, would he ACT like Trayvon, smoking dope, possessing burglary tools and jewelry, getting involved in MMA style fighting?

Fortunately the Feds said they weren't pursuing any charges but that was a while ago but ol Harry Reid said its not over. It's not like Z unloaded his gun on him. He shot once to stop the threat. Only time will tell

For the DOJ to bring a case here when eve the FBI has stated there were no civil rights violations will be seen just as it is, REVENGE. In order to convict Zimmerman the bar is substantially higher than it is when trying to convict police officers or agents of the government. Even Holder has acknowledged that the bar is very high.

To the WH and the "G" this is really nothing more than a low brow carnival side show compared to the battles they are involved in.
