Why would a military base ever be a gun free zone for the people serving our country is something I will never understand.

Re: Fort Hood - gun free zones are kill zones

I never served but of course have a world of respect for our service men and women both past and present.
I was a police officer so the only thing I can equate this to would be if all police precincts were gun free zones too. Utter lunacy, just couldn't wrap my brain around that one.

Now proven to be intended targets of the extremist and deranged, to do nothing now as per the rules, imo, is to assume moral culpability.

The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Where have I heard that before?

You'd almost think "defense" was not our military's prime function. Can you imagine the Alamo or Ft. Sumter without the men being armed?

Pure stupidity, started by Bush 41, put into high gear by the Clintons. And now they are trying to put another Bush in the Whitehouse, give me a break. They are certainly not going to get any Democrat defectors running another BUSH.
We need a fresh face, someone that hasn't been too tainted by their time in Washington. Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Trey Gowdy, (I really like Trey Gowdy and the way he goes after people, like Hillary after Benghazi, and all, even though they stonewall him, at least he gives it his best shot). I also would like to see this David Lory VanDerBeek get the Governorship of Nevada. He seems like "One of us". A patriot, Pro-Gun, Pro-Constitution, I agree with him on almost everything he has brought up. I think he'd make a great governor for Nevada. I don't know if that would give him any influence over Harry Reid, but I would hope that it would reign him in a bit.

It started long before Bush 41. We weren't allowed to have personal firearms on ship back in the late '60's. On Iwo Jima the Marines were required to turn in their ammunition as soon as the Island was secured. The stupidity goes back a long way.
