wow. another pyrrhic victory. so four out of nine supreme court judges disagree that the second amendment applies to state law? i wonder how they feel about the rest of the bill of rights? with that mindset it doesn't seem too far fetched to question whether freedom of speech, press and assembly necessarily applies to state law either.

granted that i'm not a lawyer but i just cant help getting the feeling that the dissenting votes are driven by political objectives rather than judical theory.

Duh! We're just one vote away from scrapping much of that "Inconvenient" U.S. Constitution, not that our Imperial Congress sees it as much of a limit, anyhow.

I'm coming away with this terrified. All they need is one more kagan and it's over for this country. And with their plan to give amnesty to the illegals in trade for their vote. I'll be surprised if our republic lasts my life time. Our country is in even more danger than the WW2 and the cold war.

The problem is that you think that those 4 that voted believe in the constitution, I don't think thats the case. I'm an immigrant (of the legal kind) and I think I love this country more than some people that were borned and raised here, sometimes I think some people don't know just how incredible and wonderful this country really is because they have not seen any other places and hence they can not appreciate what they have.
Take it from someone that lost his country of origin to the " socialist democratic" crowd, this country is worth defending and protecting and by God I shall do so with whatever means at my disposal.
Besides the birth of my kids the best day in my life was the day that my son came home from school (a pretty expensive school at that) and started to recite the Pledge of Allegiance, tears of happiness came out of me. At the time I was debating if I should change schools since money is a little tight right now but after his little recital the debate was over I will continue to pay for the school some how, I don't want him to go to a school were the Pledge of Alliance, God, The constitution, unbiased history and common sense are prohibited.
I have worked with people that do not know the Pledge or have never even glanced the Constitution, how is that even possible is beyond me.
It is a sad day when an Immigrant knows more about the greatness of this country than some of their so called nationals.
But I digress , the point is that some of us can't understand how four people could have voted no because we think that they have the they must country's best interest in mind.....right. Well what if that's not the case, what if they have their own agenda... or worse what if they never learned what makes tis country what it is today?????
