But, watch out. I understand that some areas, parts of Las Vegas for example, have local laws that limit where you ability to carry legally. It would be so nice if something made sense for a change.

Regrettably Texas was not on that list.Originally posted by Agent Smith View PostIt's official: http://www.nvrepository.state.nv.us/ccw_changes.shtml"Fighting is the central military act. . . . Engagements mean fighting. The object of fighting is the destruction or defeat of the enemy." Clausewitz

Yup, they left out Florida too.Originally posted by slowpoke View PostThat is disappointing.
However, I never leave Texas anymore anyhow. ..
Don't like to travel anyway. but it's strange.
Florida was like one of the first to go CC and most states
honor Florida CC. I think I can drive from the Atlantic
all the way to the California border (if I stay south).
Looks like Nevada did at one time too -
"NOTE: EFFECTIVE July 1, 2009, NEVADA was no longer reciprocal with Florida. Authorities in Nevada notified the Division of Licensing that as of that date Nevada would no longer honor Florida concealed weapon licenses. Therefore, in accordance with the reciprocity provision set forth in section 790.015, Florida Statutes, Florida could no longer honor concealed weapon licenses issued by the State of Nevada."

I don't plan on going to Nevada any time soon. The last trip was from California east to my next station and my wife and I stopped in Reno on the way out there and Vegas on the way back. It was our honeymoon on the way and in San Francisco before about 4 months or so at Castle AFB in Merced to requal in the B52 after returning from Germany.
I only cared about the gambling and casinos, so I couldn't have carried anyhow. It was 1986 and not many people could carry legally anyhow. I don't think you can CCW in casinos unless you're LE or a criminal... or both.

We passed a law here two years ago invalidating ALL county/city/local laws that restricted gun ownership beyond the state level. (OK, all but one, and has to do with Handgun Blue Card registration for residents, not tourists.)Originally posted by TucsonMTB View PostBut, watch out. I understand that some areas, parts of Las Vegas for example, have local laws that limit where you ability to carry legally.
Some cities have CLAIMED to still be enforcing the no-gun-in-car or no open carry local ordinances, but so far no one has been arrested and prosecuted for these "crimes", since the new law was passed two years ago.
The few cases that have come up so far have all been disorderly conduct or trespassing. (Nevada has very strong private property laws! You must leave private property when asked to leave. They don't have to ask twice. You will be arrested if you don't leave. Guns, clothes, music, language, any reason, you must go.)
There is a test case right now going through the system about open carry in parks. It is defacto legal now, but posted and enforced otherwise. It should make it's way threw the system in the next year or so. The arrested person has money and time and has refused a plea, so we should get a judgement this year, hopefully. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.

Thanks for the info!Originally posted by Agent Smith View PostNV dropped Florida because FL made their permit valid for seven years. I don't know why they don't recognize Texas but it may be that TX doesn't have a permit database accessible to NV LE 24/7. That's been a problem with NV for many states.
(that actually makes sense....)

It's currently not illegal to CCW in LV casinos. I do it all the time. If they see it they may ask you to leave but until you refuse no law has been broken. This is true even if they've posted no firearm signs.Originally posted by wyntrout View Post...I don't think you can CCW in casinos unless you're LE or a criminal...
