I am looking to upgrade the sights on my 1911GR. Has anyone ever found out definitively which fiber optic/tritium sights fit this firearm?? I keep seeing conflicting information everywhere I look. I did email TruGlo to see if they have a set of their TFX sights that will work. If anyone knows for sure, your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 1911G which I love very much, probably my most accurate 1911.
But I don't know what the dovetail is cut for.
Probably your best bet is to send an email to Kahr customer service and hopefully they will give us the straight skinny.
I went through the same dilemma with my Dan Wesson CBob, I wrote it down but forget now what that dovetail is cut for too.
Never did change the sights.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

I agree with Greg. Dawson is awesome. Give them a call, in many cases they can look up the specs.
Based on past experience, they are going to recommend you buy the rear site first. Shoot the pistol, and then calculate the correct front sight height to go with the rear.
Dawson also comes with everything you need for installation. Drift tool, hex key etc...NRA Benefactor

Dawson does not make a fiber optic/tritium sight - you can only get one or the other & I want the combo. Magnum Research did get back to me and they sent me a chart with the dimensions, which I would post here, but this site does not allow me to post images. It also does not have a secure registration or login process (https), which is completely inexcusable in this day and age.
I decided to upload the chart to my Dropbox, so here is the link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/mmncbpd6o...I3ewwiXSa?dl=0

I spoke to TruGlo this morning and they have two part numbers that are close. The one they said to choose is the 1911 260/450 set. The first is TG13NV1A and the second is TG13NV1PC. They are 65° x .495 rear and 65° x .330 front. A local armory to me is going to check with their top gunsmith to see what he thinks.

I decided to have them installed on my Rock Island 1911 instead. The dovetail dimensions on it were very close to the TruGlo dimensions. I may pick up another set and have them installed on the Desert Eagle, but they will have to rework the angle on the front sight to make it work.Originally posted by ale214 View PostDid these work for you?
