This is cheap enough, at about $300 per thousand plus less than $25 shipping, that I don't bother with anything else for range sessions and practice. No worries about whether or not my carry ammo works as well as my most frequently fired range ammo. I like that.
Yeah, I might be an ammo-spendthrift. Guess that's why I am poor.
Come to think of it, I think $25 shipping might have been for the 1500 rounds of my last order. They say the memory is the first thing to go . . .
Oh, and NICE PISTOL! If I didn't have a PM40 I might be jealous.

I just ordered 11 boxes of HERTER'S BRASS HANDGUN AMMO/50 40S&W 180GR FMJTC @ $13.99 each from Cabela's and used the free shipping code on >=$150 order, saving $16.95. I really wanted 165-grain FMJ, but the free shipping and no tax was nice.
They just sent me another offer of the $20 off on $150. My wife works and I sit here spending money to punch holes in paper!
I was thinking about 165-gr Gold Dots for my carry ammo... almost 500-ft/lbs and around 1150 fps. I wanted a bonded bullet and the mid-weight seemed the best... better than the 180's, anyhow.
I bought over 4 half-cases of ammo from Cabela's with deals this past month. I really NEEDED another caliber! I think I may be able to carry the P40 some, and it should drop into my PM9's MiniTuck... the K9 and the PM45 do.
