Speer LE GDHP Duty 357 Sig 125 gr 1,375 fps

    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/667...city-box-of-20

Haven't run it thru the chrono yet but they advertize 1700 fps out of the 6" GP100...

What I have are the 158 grain version... and I also have some of the 180 grain flat points..

The wife didn't care for them out of her 2 1/4" SP101 but didn't object to either in the GP100...

My Glock G27 with an OEM 3.46" barrel bucks pretty hard with these hot LE Speer rounds.
Interestingly when I switch to the Jocko "I'd port the F(*&*(" 4.16" dual ported barrel
the recoil and muzzle rise is reduced to 9mm +P levels.

I'm heading off to the range for some long distance work in about 10 minutes.
Still finding it hard to believe the difference porting makes on the 20 oz gun.

I was actually thinking about picking up a .357 Sig barrel for my G27 earlier this week. I have the Lone Wolf Stainless 9mm conversion barrel for the G27 and it really works great. I just think it's so cool that you can just pop in a new barrel and mag into the G27 and almost have a new gun. I need another caliber of ammo like a hole in the head, but with the cost of entry being so low, why not give it a try.

Where did you find the ported barrel Barth?

I would be interested in seeing what those loads would chronograph out of my G35 w/my KKM .357 SIG barrel (5.32") in it.

          A little late but...fixed!

I ordered an extended dual ported Black Isonite QPQ finish barrel
directly from Storm Lake. They are a manufacturer not a distributor though.
If you can find what you want from a third party it's usually cheaper
            and faster.

Mine was built, and Isonite QPQ finished, after I ordered.
It took three months to get and cost $208 including shipping.

Accuracy, fit and finish is nothing short of outstanding.
And the ports work better than expected.
Recoil and muzzle flip is dramatically reduced compared to my Glock OEM G33 3.46" 357 barrel.

Plus, the reason I ordered the Storm Lake in the first place?
The OEM Glock G33 barrel nose dives bad, like every other mag, on Speer GDHPs.
And I mean lock up holy OIUOIUIO bad.

The Storm Lake barrel eats the same ammo like candy.
            Glock Perfection my ars.

Does the ported barrel cause a decrease in velocity compared to a non ported of the same length?

according to magna port, possably 6%. I'm sure the BG wouldnever know the difference.
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I wonder if you can get a .357 SIG barrel for a CW40? That round seems to have very good ballistics. I believe the cartridge was designed to try and achieve .357 Magnum performance from an semi-auto.

                    Yes.

                    Example:
                    __________________________________________________ __
                    M&P40
10 rounds each (same lot) over a PACT:

                    fps . . Barrel
                    971 . M&P40 factory barrel, new
                    974 . M&P40 factory barrel, after 9,000 rounds.
988 . Storm Lake M&P40 replacement barrel, new
1029 Storm Lake M&P40 extended barrel, almost new
1004 Storm Lake M&P40 ported, used, less than 1000 rounds

                    __________________________________________________ __

                    I haven't tested my barrel but un-ported is;
                    G32 4.02" 357 Sig ~1350 fps
                    G33 3.46" 357 Sig ~1300 fps

My ported G27 is an extended 4.16" barrel.
With two ports at the end beyond 3.46".
So if the porting is about -25 fps and the extra 1/2" is about +50?
I'm guessing ~1325 with the ports.

                    On a general level,
my way of thinking is that an extended barrel,
with ports on the extended portion of the barrel,
is sort of a wash velocity wise.

Hopefully I end up with the best of both.
Less recoil/muzzle flip with a little more fps at the same time.

Good point! Get the extended, ported barrel and cancel out any velocity loss from the porting. Sweet!
                      Very interesting...

I finally got motivated to get my .357 conversion barrel today after picking up 300 rounds of .357 Sig ammo. I ended up going with the Lone Wolf barrel again. The 9mm Lone Wolf has been excellent and I hope that continues with the .357. I'll send both the 9mm and .357 off to CCR for matte black Cera Hide once I'm sure the .357 will work in my G27. The Storm Lakes looked great, but I didn't want to wait months for the barrel.

                          Don't blame you a bit.
The waiting is deadly - LOL!
I must say porting on the extended 357 barrel works much better than I expected.
Hope you're getting an extended ported version.
It's really worth the reduced recoil and muzzle rise in the shorty G27.

Got my order in from McGills. 2 G33 mags and an invoice letting me know the barrel is back ordered. So much for running a test or two this weekend. =(

I didn't know the Klan was making barrels now . I have a KKM 40 barrel for my G32, nice barrels.
