I carry RA9TA Winchester Ranger 9mm T-Series 127gr +P+ in my PM9 it is a round I have used for quite sometime with good results. I've had the round tested and the velocity was on par with ammo rated +P. I feel the +P+ is more an advertising ploy then any thing else.

In todays world you need to be careful in what type of ammunition you carry.
I am not interested in explaning to a jury as to why I was using +P+ ammunition in a gun that is only rated +P by the manufacture.
The outcome might be the same as hitting a hornets nest with a broom stick.
In my opinion, it's not a road that I am not interested in going down.

My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

FWIW, last year I ran some of the Win. Ranger #RA9TA 127 gr. +P+ over my chronograph thru my PM9.
When compared to the Speer Gold Dot #23611 124 gr. +P HP short barrel load, I found the +P+ loading to be lacking in velocity from the PM9 3.1" bbl.
It seems that the 127 gr +P+ actually looses velocity in the 3.1" bbl.
Gold Dot 124 gr. +P HP SB load.
1116.6 fps average for 6 rds.
1121.2 fps average for 6 rds.
Speer lists the velocity of this load at 1150 fps out of a 3.5" bbl.
Winchester Ranger 127 gr. +P+ HP load.
1117.4 fps average for 6 rds.
IMO, there is no advantage in using the Win. +P+ loads in the 3.1" bbl. of the PM9 even though it did shoot very well thru my pistol at normal combat distances. It did however, not shoot any better than the Speer load which is my EDC load.
As I recall I fired a total of 24 rds. so I'm not concerned about accelerated wear on my PM9.

Yup, that's about right as far as cost of good +P ammo for the 9mm anyway.
The Hornady Critical Duty 135 gr. +P FlexLock runs .85 per round in the 25 rd. boxes.
The Speer GD 124 gr. +P runs $1.14 per round for the 20 rd. boxes.
Both of these are + shipping is one can not locate them locally.

Also, Underwood Ammo has good prices and they use GD bullets. They also actually load them to run at the fps stated on the box, not 5%+/- below that we see with many manufacturers. Tnoutdoors9 on Youtube has tested their ammo with impressive results.
(I am not affiliated with anyone...I wish someone would pay me to hawk their ammo...or just give me some for free!)
