  • Thanksgiving ammo shopping

We spent a few days with my kids and Ex over Thanksgiving. We got back from the People's Democratic Republic of Ill Annoy around 02:30 this morning... about 15 hours on the road. Wifey got Thursday and Friday off and we drove back Sunday, leaving around 10:30 am. Wifey had to nap as much as possible after driving a good bit. She had to work this morning and got to bed with about 2 hours until she had to get up at 05:15! I got a short nap for about half an hour before she got up and then I went to bed.

I made sure we would be able to stop at the Outpost Armory... the Barretts' store. They are open on Sundays noon to 5PM. They have a great gun store!

The last time I went to the Armory I got some Buffalo Bore 90-grain +P JHP for my P380. I've been getting low and needed some more at $19.99 a box of 20... which was still the price... since I like making pictures of those fiery doughnuts, I got a hundred more and a box of 9mm 124-gr Gold Dots Short Barrel. I also got a neat Barrett hat.

I didn't look at all of the prices, but they had a nice .50 BMG semi-auto for only $8,900. I forgot to take my phone in with me or I would have taken some pictures of the .50 BMG trim and handles for the men's "convenience" door... lots of those on the inside of the door.

Some pix of my minor buy are included. I did find Gander and Walmart open in Paducah, KY, on the way there... Thanksgiving day! Gander is TOO HIGH, but at Walmart I found FOUR 100-rd boxes of the .45 ACP Federal 230-gr FMJ for $29.97 and one of the .40 S&W for $27.97, so I snapped those up. No ID or anything needed in gun-friendly Kentucky and Tennessee.

The Armory is where I found .380 ammo back in 2009 while I was waiting for my Kahr P380 with Night Sights... 11 months! Since then I've tried to stop going up or back when I've visited my kids in Southern IL.

I love the outpost! That's actually where I purchased my CW9, I live a little less than an hour from there.
