I just returned from Walmart. They had stacks of PPU in 9mm. It's the first time I've seen that brand in my store. It's not a regular stock item.

    At $290/1000, I didn't buy a single box.

That PPU 9mm was kind of expensive.

I was standing there and a guy bought a few boxes and I thought the girl said something like $14-$15 bucks a box.

          I've been doing the same.
          Very interesting...

I bought 10 boxes at around $14 per 50. High? Sure. Available? Yes!

I dont like Federal Champion as I have had issues with it, and I have witnessed friends having issues with it. From ATK (Federal, Speer) I'd rather have American Eagle, Speer Lawman, or even Blazer series.

Remington/UMC is ok, but wasnt available. Same with Winchester White Box.

I went to our closest Walmart yesterday and, as usual, checked out the ammo supply. I was pleasantly surprised that they had just gotten in some Federal Champion... 9mm for $13.97 a box of 50 and .45 $32.17 a box of 100. I thought they only had a few boxes of the .45 but it was just pushed back on the shelf. I got my max allowed 3 boxes of .45 and there were still 2 or more boxes left. Stuff trickles in and it's luck of the "draw" on finding anything you want, but I always look. The 9mm was too high for me... I'm still using the Champion FMJ I bought from them back during the 2010 "shortage" at less than $10 a box. I still buy 9mm when I can get it delivered for $10 or so a box... decent stuff... no steel cases. I did think about buying some of that, too, in the tins... for long-term storage.

nice that I get a 10% discount on ammo at wmt, as wife works there and has for 27 years. Kinda rings 100 wwb 9mm to around $21.50. Our wmt never seems to have anything in 9mm range ammo except wwb. I never see federal here. they have had before some tulu ammo..
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

                  Report

Ammo report for today. Dick's was pretty much wiped out once again. Less than a handful of rifle round boxes, no handgun calibers and just birdshot for shotguns. Academy had in 12 and 20 gauge 00 buckshot finally. Limit one box per caliber/gauge/day. Argh! Walmart was the winner of the day. Had in 45 and 12 and 20 gauge and a fair amount of rifle calibers including 223. No 9mm anywhere to be seen. Unfortunately, they too instituted the ammo rationing. 3 boxes/person/day. Just started today. I picked up as much 12 gauge PDX as me and my 14 Hispanic and Asian family members were allowed to get. Thank you INS!

The Walmart by me seems to get a few federal champion 100 round boxes every couple days. My timing was right on Monday and I was able to get a box. They're goug for $21 and change but the limit is 1 box per day.

the last time i timed it right @ a local wal-mart it payed off excellent 12 100ct boxes, those boxes are hard to come by but today worked out ok for 7 50ct boxes.
they have a sign limiting you to 3 boxes per customer, so i said i'll take 3 & she looked @ me & said is that all you want.
i said i'm sorry did i say 3, i ment to say all 7 & she smiled, so now i have another 350 rds to feed the beasts.
