  • Self Defense Ammo in a PM45

I just picked up a new PM45 today and was wondering what everone else uses for carry ammo, and what brand, if any had reliability issues. Please list weight and if the ammo is standard pressure or +P. In my Sig I carry 230g +P horandays, I also bought a box of spper gold dot 230G and Federal Hyrda Shock 230g. I carry critical defense in other calibers (PM9, 38 special) does anyone have any experience with critical defnese in the PM45?

Kahr firearm are rated +P, you should have not issue, the best thing to do is test favorite ones after you have done the break in with ball ammo, I do not have a PM45, but CW45 and I used Remington Gold saver and Winchester Silver tip, and used them in all my 45(5 of them). Welcome to board!

A Conceal Carry Handgun Must Meet Four Conditions:
    1) It must be utterly reliable.
    2) It should be compact enough to be carried concealed for long periods of time.
    3) It should have a very simple operating drill.
    4) It should fire a cartridge of sufficient power.

Right now I have about 300 rounds of 185 gr, standard pressure Gold Dots and Golden Sabers for my PM45 and two other 45's, and they are OK. However, if I can find some Federal HST's, I'll jump on them.

              For my CW9

Gold Dot 124GR GDHP 9MM +P, cost me $19.99 for 20 at LGS.

I try to end my day at range with a mag or two - there is a bit of difference between these and the 115GR WWB FMJ's I normally use for paper pasting.

Gold Dot 124GR GDHP 9MM +P ?? Those little things won't stay in MY PM45... they just fall right through the barrel.

I use the IMPROVED Golden Sabers... Man-sized Bonded Remington 230-grain Golden Sabers with improved penetration:

I'll get back to you on this. My wife is checking my insurance policy. Funny she's looking at Carribean vacation packages too. How weird is that?

I'd be worried there Mr Holloway...

She's not buying up all the DPX she can find, is she?

                          But it is excellent ammo.
