I use the 124-gr FMJ in 9mm, but I haven't tried the .45. Very good ammo and there are decent prices here and there. I bought the 9mm at $11 or less a box and I still look for .380 in the $15 or less range. I'm not about to run out of anything now, but I keep my eyes open for deals all over.
I had to stop buying the $9.47 a box Fed. 9mm at Wally World... I have so much of that. I had at least 4 buys of that at 6 boxes limit per trip. I'm definitely fat with 9mm.
My next project before too long will be to "recharge" my desiccant packs ~250° for a looong time in the oven. I use military ammo cans and those fist-sized mil-spec brown bags of desiccant I got at a gun show.

Magtech or S&B are fine ammo in my book. I even shoot Wolf (gonna clean it anyway, and most surplus is steel cased too).
Attitude: it takes 43 muscles to frown, 17 to smile...and 3 for proper trigger squeeze.

I didn't really need any ammo, but while I was down near St. Augustine for a small gun show, I went to a few of the outlet stores down there and then to the Gander Mountain Store. I didn't really see anything I wanted. They had a lot of ammo, but no .380. They did have the UMC Megaboxes(250 rounds) of 9mm, .40. and .45. The 9mm was $80 and the .40 was $110(?), and the .45 was $140!!!!! I told the guy working there that I had just bought a couple of those at Wally World for $84.97 each. He said, yeah, they had tried to talk management or whomever into lowering the prices, but no dice.
Jocko, you're right about the proctology exam... unbelievable! I mentioned your comment, too. All of their prices were high. What would be $12.50 at Wally's would be $20 there.

I didn't buy anything until I got to Costco. Unfortunately, they don't sell ammunition.

I'm ready for a nap. It seemed a lot hotter than my van's thermometer was saying and it was tiring getting in and out of the van and the heat.

I "discovered" Natchez Shooter's Supply today and see that they have .380. They are pretty competitive on 9mm and 45 ACP as well. They are on my watch list now. I also have a request for notification when they get CCI small pistol primers. I am shopping around for those at the moment and generally trying to establish a list of good reloading suppliers.

You're certainly welcome. I've done business with that guy several times now and bought a LOT of that .380. It's good ammo and you can't beat the price or service. Most places charge more for .380 than .45. The S&B has been showing up a lot more than other brands, especially in .380.
Buying 10 boxes or more and getting the 5% discount, my cost per box was under $15 a box delivered. I just don't understand why people on this forum don't pounce on it.

For the past three weeks, I have been able to buy Rem/UMC .380 @ 15.97/50 or 77.97/250 yellow megapacks. Locally and available intermittantly. Not the best stuff in the world but adequate enough for practice. I bought about 800 rounds and feel much better now.

Could be that the manufacturers are responding to the demand. 9mm and most other calibers have been widely available for the past few months.
