  • 22lr price drop?

Bought a Federal 525 pack for $29.95. That's the lowest I've seen it in a long while. Same store had it for $49.95 just a few months ago when they had any at all. Limit was one box. They had many other calibers including 9mm for reasonable prices.

    Is supply loosening up?

I don't think it is. You just got lucky.

According to gunbot.net, 22LR is still in very short supply. In fact, they only show one vendor with Federal Champion 525 pack, and it is priced at $99.99 with a one box purchase limit.

Most of the stock shown is match grade ammo. And it's not cheap. You got a bargain.

      Thanks.

FYI -- if any of you live in NE Ohio, It's at Fin Feather Fur. I was at the Canton location. They had quite a bit when I was there yesterday. But I guess it could ne gone by now. FFF has been a good source for reasonably priced ammo throughout.

Still don't hardly ever even see it here. I'm a far piece from Ohio Columbus.
One would certainly think it would be getting caught back up.
Maybe it's like the gas shortage a conspiracy to get the cheap ammo way over priced. Gradually get it back into circulation but don't lower the price much. After enough time the ridiculous high price becomes the norm and people accept it.

Can't stomach the ammo makers in the same category as the oil companies but maybe so.

You got lucky. An ammo rep told me recently that 22lr may never return to pre-panic levels. Pre-panic prices are gone for good. He advised that the 525 bulk packs in the future will price out at $49.95 and up depending upon the manufacturer.

We were getting .22lr all last year regularly, though it was always scooped up as soon as it was on the shelves. Prices never seemed to be much more than the pre-panic era.

However, since before Christmas the supply has seemed to dry up. We have been getting .22mag's in very limited quantities. Also, we haven't seen anything from CCI, Winchester or Remington since before Christmas. Hornady is about all we have seen, though we do have 500 round bricks of .22lr tracers for $99.99!!! They are still on the shelf.

I don't know what the heck is going on. Sure looked like things were getting back to normal but now I'm not so sure.

Try to find .17 Mach 2 , just glad I still have @600 rounds. Otherwise I would have a long heavy paperweight. After thinking about that statement I'm pretty sure 600 trigger pulls from now I will have xxl paperweight. 22lr is spotty here in Nevada but is available at times, last price on the shelf at Cabelas @ $11 for box of 100.

Bricks can still be found on gunbot.net. But prices are very high. For instance, Federal Champion 525 pack is selling from $100 - $160 per box.

                No thanks!
