I haven't been in to Wal Mart for nearly a year. But today I needed a household item and I happened to be passing by, so I stopped. My travels through the store happened to take me past the ammunition cabinet, which as always appeared about 95% empty. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted what appeared to be a few 100 round boxes of WWB. Could they possibly be 9MM? Yes indeed, they were. $26.67 each. They had nine boxes with a three box limit. Three for me and three for my son. They also had quite a few 50 round boxes of Federal for around $14.50. I'm sure it was divine intervention that drew me to Wal Mart on this particular day at this particular time.

The only ammo I've seen at Walmart for the past few years comes from some place in Europe and when you shoot a round it goes Ka Blamski and smells like a slag pit.Judging by today's left wing, looks like Senator Joe McCarthy was right after all.

Wifey and I found the first "normal" priced .22... Federal 40gr 1260fps LRN for $2.49 a box at Gander Mountain. Surprisingly, they had a 5-box limit and we each got 5 boxes. A guy beside me also got some and said that he had seen an ad with a two-box limit.
They also had some CCI 1070fps, but I wanted the standard velocity 40gr lead round nose for my .22 Glock conversion.
They had tons of ammo, but not anything low enough for me. I did buy the last two boxes of .380 for $19.99 each... Fiocchi 95gr FMJ. .380 under $25 a box is kind of rare these days.
I bought some .40 WWB Value Pack 100rd at Dicks for 1/2 off the second box priced at $36.99.
I haven't bought much ammo locally in a long time, but I thought that I ought to replace SOME of the 5-6 boxes of .40 that my son and I blew away Friday, not including two more that we bought at the range. We shot my G23C and my P40. He has a G22 at home up in Ohio that he never gets to shoot.
Before we left home we loaded up a dozen mags for the Glock and 10 for the P40. It goes quickly, but I have two UPLULA loaders.
This was about 4 hours after picking him up at the airport. I checked Gander before arriving at the airport and again after taking him to catch his plane on Sunday. The airport is about 18-19 miles away and the big shopping center near it is about 15 miles from home, so I never drive over there looking for ammo... costs me about 3 gallons of gas, and no certitude of finding ammo and certainly limited, if any .22!

My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border
