  • Walmart Ammo Selection

I went to the Walmarts and decided to check their ammo supply and wasn't really shocked but surprised nearly every box of 5.56 and 223 was now gone, so was the .308/7.62x54mm and 7.62x39mm ammo. They used to have a very ample supply there of both, now they are down to nothing and I'm afraid it will probably continue. How very sad it is to see this in my lifetime. I never thought the 2nd amendment would be under attack by our own government.

The Wallys around here have been dried up for a long long time. Everything except shotgun shells. We have other options though.

Same here, every once in awhile, they will have one or two boxes of .45 and 9 mm. .22's don't exist.

They sometimes have some oddball stuff just because no one is asking for it. I think all the .35 rem I have came from Wallys. I recommend asking about that kind of stuff as their prices will generally be good. Many of the big box stores can be good sources for oddball ammo. I was at Cabelas and their pistol ammo was pretty pricey but they had .30cal carbine real cheap and plenty of it. It pays to shop around.

This particular Walmart I frequent has been in great supply of nearly everything of late, except .22 but they do get in a few cases here and there, you just have to time it right, because usually it's gone within a couple days, but the 5.56 and 7.62 ammo had very ample stock in neat rows, now empty.

Ours is out of 223/335 too they seems to have plenty 9MM. Noticed SGAmmo has "0" inventories on 223/556. Checked CTD and they are about the same. SG now has a temporary $75 minimum order and a 5-7 day shipping delay. Seems everyone is blaming the weather slowing or stopping shipping. I also wonder about the dock strike on the left coast. Something's up?

I just checked their website. They are showing "0" inventory on all the 223/556 with back order Ok. 3 to 5 day delay in shipping and $74.95 minimum for ordering. No problem there as I always order more than that. Kinda stunned me. Didn't know whether to get my tin hat out and dust it off or not. Maybe I'm not doing something right? Hope nothing is wrong as that is where I order all my ammo. Good folks.

No there's nothing wrong on your end, its all timing like I said just by chance I checked Sun afternoon & was shocked to see what I seen.
as I was double checking to make sure it was correct & the price was same as it was in Dec when I bought, the #'s were dropping like a rock so that meens I wasn't the only 1 that got lucky.
I do agree on SGAmmo being a fantastic online supplier to deal with.
