Has anyone tried these and do you like them...I was at Bass Pro Shops last night to pick up some .45 long colt bullets for handloading and saw several boxes of Winchester .40 cal $19.00 for 25 so I picked up a box to see how they work...I normally carry Remington Golden Saber which they also had for $31.00 for 20 as well as the Hornady FTX for the same price as the Remington so I figured why not give the Winchesters a try....I ended up spending $25.00 for a box of 50 300 grain Hornady .45 bullets, $34.00 for a box of 100 240 grain Hornady .44 cal bullets and $19.00 for the Winchester .40 cal rounds... With tax it came to $96.00 and change!!!...
...I gotta find a cheaper hobby as I only intended to spend $50.00 or less....I did have an interesting experience while looking at the gun counter...A young lady in her early 20's or so told the sales guy she had never shot before and didn't know anything about guns but was looking to buy a pistol....The guy first brings out the most expensive Kimber 1911 .45 which was way too much gun for this very tiny girl....Next he brings out another expensive Sig .40 cal which she also said was too big and heavy...The last gun was the little Sig p238 which she liked but didn't buy saying she wanted to get her boyfriend to help her decide what to get....After she walked away I asked him to see the Sig p238 and it is a nice gun but I told him I wouldn't feel comfortable with a co#ked and locked single action in my pocked...The guy looked at me kind of funny and said, what is co#ked and locked mean and I had to explain to him the difference between a single action pistol and double action design...He was a nice enough guy but didn't have a clue about guns even though he was giving advice and selling to customers....I told him thanks and walked away with my very expensive bag of lead......
