.40 S&W lead reloading

I'm going to load some practice rounds for my CW40. I plan to use lead, maybe 180 gr. for lighter fun shooting stuff. Anyone found a good starting recipe? BTW, I'm open to other weights I just figure 180 gr may be easier to find.

I've got my carry round taken care of so I don't need that. I like 165gr Corbon.

Midway has Rainier Plated bullets 165's and 180's on sale right now. They say they were out of stock but expected them in prior to the flier they sent out, would have to check.
A little over a 100 per 1000 bullets. I haven't loaded any for my 40 but I've loaded 1000's for 45. Not much more than lead and they are cleaner and work fine in polygonal barrels or whatever.
I even get the hollowpoint version since they are the same price. I don't ever carry reloads for CCW but I figure worst case scenario I could if I had too.

I have 500 165 gr Rainier for indoors if I need them. I like to use lead outdoors.

Please let us know how the reloading goes, cost per round, etc. BIL is urging me to reload 40 S&W also.

I load a lot of 40S&W for my CW40, G23, Sig239-229, and XD40sc but primarily shoot jacketed bullets.

I do load some 155gr lead rounds and they function quite well and accuracy is probably a bit better with them than with the jacketed bullets. Shot 100 of them this morning in fact.

It's necessary to make a careful inspection and use good brass when loading 40S&W due to the higher pressure of the round...But you knew that.
