I replaced the heat protection device a few times, but it probably needed a new thermostat. The first replacement lasted about 6 years, the next a few months, so I bought a new dryer that doesn't overcook my clothes and make my shirts smaller... usually SHORTER and WIDER. I had a BUNCH of Van Heusen Polos that did that quickly... sold them in a garage sale... many dozens.

I like Duluth's stuff, and it's definitely heavy duty, but both the sweatshirt I got from them and the sweatpants shrunk lengthwise. Keep that in mind when ordering...

Are you sure it's your dryer making your shirts SHORTER and WIDER, or is it you wearing them????
I've lost my memory, and I can't remember where I put it.

No, I had several brands of shirts do that. They shrunk up and got wider... not that I haven't, but it seemed the way the fiber and the weave worked when heated too much. The dryer got really hot. The new one leaves stuff with some moisture... much better.

Wider and shorter is not good for CCW!

Old age and gravity make you get shorter... and eating more than you need for your daily activities does tend to make you wider, too. <sigh>

I had better get back to my book and see if I can get sleepy! Later!

I received the pj holster yesterday and it definitely helped my issue. It disapears under almost anything and at 3/330!

Another option..... as long as you don't get plumber's crack when you bend over you should be able to tuck your shirt in and many/most IWB holsters are tuckable. I carry that way a lot and even gun people don't see any print. An untucked shirt makes me look for a print just to see if I can see the gun. My old large cell phone is in a case that bulges a lot with untucked shirts which I don't like.

PS: JohnH... Why is "cell phone" spelled as one word considered porn by the forum filter??

What I do is carry a K9, PM9, in very reasonably priced Don Hume JIT holsters. I've also carry a 1911 commander in a JIT holster. . I weave my belt belt through all the belt loops except the one at my hip area. I also try to wear a nylon belt. This allows me to easily slide the holster any anywhere from behind the hip to the appendix.

In a car I slide it to in front of my hip bone so it's not digging into the seat or my waist. When bending I casually use the back of my hand to slide it to the appendix position, no one ever notices the movement. The nylon belt makes for an easy slide.

When wearing a vest or jacket, I usually carry at or just behind the hip bone and use a knife edge swipe to get at the gun.

When wearing a loose fitting shirt outside my pants I still usually carry in the same position but if get a tingly sensation, I'll casually slide the holster to the appendix position so that I can easily lift my shirt and draw.

When wearing a size larger T shirt I carry in front of the hip bone.

I'm not trying to sound like a know it all, I'm just explaining what works for me. I've been carrying concealed for over 25 yrs. so I know what works or doesn't for me. IWB doesn't work becauseof my spare tire and its a fixed position, and it's uncomfortable. I learned to bend at the knees not at the waist when using one of these. Pancake style holsters IMHO print more than people think unless they want to have a tourniquet around their waist. The front holster slot pulls in the front of the holster but it also pushes out the heel of the gun, and isn't that what we're trying to conceal. And the double slots also make it hard to to slide the holster around. And the front wing limits how far forward you can go

IMHO the above style holster is the best for for me. A guy by the name of Bruce Nelson first came up with the design and called it The professional. Now it has different names like: Hume JIT, Askins Avenger, Fist Sportsman, Milt Sparks 55BN, (the BN stands for Bruce Nelson), and many others. If you do a search for Bruce Nelson holsters you'll see what I mean.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it
                    John

i'm 6'2 190, and carrying at 1 o'clock has been the best solution i've found to this, but you'll probably need a new holster. the garrett silent thunder or andrews macdaniel ii are both great for AIWB.

it's not as comfortable as regular IWB though. i carry at about 3:30 (used to carry at 4:30, move it up to deal with the grip snagging issue) and try to be careful about how i move, as john said, remember to bend at the knees rather than at the hips. i usually wear untucked t-shirts, so it can happen fairly easily, but i'm not going to change my whole wardrobe based on it. wearing your belt tight can help pull the butt of that gun in closer to the body.

generally i only wear my AIWB holster if i know i'm going to be seated a lot, long car trip, going out to eat, something like that, but it conceals far better too.
