  • Best way to carry in a suit/tux

How are you guys carrying when you have to wear a suit or tux?

I have a tuckable IWB that works most of the time, but am looking for an alternative to carry my CM9 where there is a high chance of someone hugging you and discovering the gun.

Pocket carry? Smart carry? Ankle holster? What works for you?

Personally, I carry almost exclusively IWB, low ride, tuckable, in the 1:00 position. I find this works for me in almost all situations. On a rare occasion, I pocket carry. Anyway, back to the suit. In the manner I described earlier, it is hidden, does not print, and unless you know the person REALLY well should not be a factor when hugging. If the belt clip is too noticeable, you can get a thin, light belt holster and a light weight nylon belt. Before you get dressed, put on the belt and holster in the 1:00 position. Then, get dressed like normal. Your gun is safe and secure with no visible sign you're carrying. Yes you're wearing a belt under your clothing. But after a few minutes, you don't feel like anything is different than normal. A great thing about this method, you can adjust the ride height by how high or low you wear the gun belt that is under your clothes.

Borrow my Seecamp. I carried it in a Tux last weekend. Indeed, a true "elevator gun" but very concealable almost anywhere on your body.

If you are wearing a tux and NOT carrying a Walther PPK, you shouldn't be allowed to have a gun. I believe it's international law. molar...james molar.

You may want to give the Alessi Body Guard a look. As far as hugs go maybe keep your elbows low and let them hug you around the shoulders.

I never owned a suit. I rented (pay for punishment) a penguin costume for my daughters wedding but brought my side by side scattergun.

Galco Ankle Glove and Ankle Lite work great with suits and slacks.

Now we are talking. Maybe I could customize a cumber bund so that it will accept a pistol, kind of like the pistol wear concept.

As for the rest of you, I'm not cool enough to carry a PPK. I'm just a lowly dentist.

Damn, have to wear a tux to my son's wedding and don't have a PPK. Probably wear my CW40 in my shoulder rig. I wore it under a sport coat to a friends funeral, got some hugs and no one seemed to notice it.
