  • Pocket Holster Recommendations

    Good Morning All,

I will be picking up my CM40 on Wednesday, and I intend to carry it in my right front pocket, once I get it broken in.
Could I get your recommendations on whether or not you feel a pocket holster is better than just dropping it in the pocket, what model you prefer, and any issues you may have had using different pocket holsters, or pocket carry in general?
Thanks in advance, and have a great day.
    -Elliott

Never put a loaded weapon in your front pocket without a decent holster that covers the trigger. There are many good pocket holsters out there, DeSantis, Blackhawk, Remora, etc., and many leather holster makers too. For something this size, I would guess a leather pocket holster might be to bulky, so for now I would try one of the "sticky" types. Good luck in your search.

I just picked up a Desantis Superfly and it seems to be a good holster. Very sticky, and won't come out of your pocket. It still makes a weird looking print in my pants though. You can definitely tell that I have something out-of-place in my front pocket. I think darker colored pants may be the answer.

It's real life, not a TV show and you should carry your gun in something regardless of where you are carrying it. I like the Desantis Nemesis with my CM9.

they ain't looking in that direction and they ain't surmissing it is a gun either. It bothers u the carrier far more than any civilian in a public place. Hell with the size of thse iphones etc and other sh!t stuff. a gun would more than likely be the last thing they are thinking of. If ur legal to carry, then don't worry about it.

agree APSKAHR any pocket gun shold be in something to protect the trigger area.:israel:
. My PM9 has over 34,000+ rounds through it, and runs much better than an illegal trying to get across our border

I agree that a holster is a necessity to keep foreign objects (or fingers) from getting into the trigger guard and depressing that trigger. The trigger is a machine and it will do its job when called upon. Remembering that and maintaining respect for the trigger is the key to reducing ND's down to something approaching zero.

Glad to hear you're going with a holster for pocket holster for pocket carry. I read on one of these forums not long ago where a guy pocketed his bare pistol and the trigger hit his pocket knife. He put a 40 cal round through his thigh.
I got a decent one made by Blackhawk for about $12 bucks at Academy Sports

I just got one of these Desantis Superfly, for my P380 and like it. For the bigger guns I like an IWB holster.

So here's another question. Will a holster designed for the PM9 or CM9 also fit the CM40?

Both PJ Holster and Alabama Holster make outstanding Kydex pocket holsters. PJ is far quicker on delivery, about two weeks. You'll wait 8-9 weeks for the Alabama.

Bob Mika (famous for his J frame holsters) makes a nice holster. I have one for my PM9 and love it.

The 40 is 1/2" longer and a hair wider. I would advise getting a holster made specifically for the PM40, which will fit the CM40 just fine.
                              Very interesting...
