I am a brand new Kahr owner, though I have been in the market for years! I am going to be picking up my P40 tomorrow afternoon. (California's 10 days grace period.) My question for all of you is in regards to an IWB holster. I will soon be medically retiring from the Marines and moving back to Ohio with my wife. I intend to make my full size Kahr my daily carry and want to know your personal recommendations on what works best? I have done a bit of research, but really want some personal experience behind my buy. I don't mind spending some money on something that feels right, and will last. Thanks in advance for any and all input!

Jason,
You'll find numerous folks here raving about the PJ Holster. It's all Kydex and completely disappears. So light you forget you have it on. Very reasonably priced and super quick turnaround.

That notch in the rail is supposed to be there
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."
--Thomas Jefferson (1764).

For my full size beretta, I use "the answer" by tucker gun leather. Very comfortable, conceals well strong side, quick, easy to reholster, and easily adjustable. It's very similar to a crossbreed SuperTuck, but easier to adjust, no leather squeaking, and just all around higher quality.

Welcome to KahrTalk and thank you for your service (from a former Marine... 1962-1966).
Sorry, I primarily pocket carry and have a PM9 so can't help you decide on an IWB holster for your P9."I hate quotations. Tell me what you know."

If you want a really comfortable leather holster you might want to check out James Dean leather holsters. http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=11704
He is jlaudio29 here on kahrtalk.
His holsters are very well made. Mine is very comfortable after breaking in and molding itself to my side and the draw is great out of the holster.
He is also a great guy too. Check out his work..

I have found this N82 Tactical "Professional" model absolutely perfect for summer carry of my Glock26. Light, durable and very comfy as it keeps the total gun grip away from my body. Slip it on at about 4:00, cover with Hawaiian Shirt or T-Shirt. Great thing about this holster is you don't need an undergarment to keep the gun from rubbing/irritating your skin. Lots of great choices!

I'm weighing the options, pretty good selection thus far. I'm especially glad someone mentioned the supertuck. The hybrid/ crossbreed feel seemed to be what I was most interested in, still unsure though. This talk of the PJ Holster is awfully intising! How does one go about determining the positioning desired before ordering? Having never carried, all I could really do is move my gun around the waistband to see where it feels right. Does this seem like an advisable step in the process?!

I agree with either "The Answer" from Tucker or the "Fusion" from Garrett. I have the Answer for my heavy 1911 after trying a single belt clip that sagged badly. If I happen to get my next gun, a G30SF, I will get the Fusion from Garrett. They also make the Silent Thunder which I have. The thing with 2 clips is the spreading of the belt load which makes a world of difference."Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end." - O. L.

I went through the same thing not too long ago Jason having never carried before I was unsure how much cant or ride height would work best for me. Yes, you can move the gun around and get an idea but really no way to tell till you get it and wear if for a while. You can email the holster maker and ask for advise maybe they can steer you on that.
I have a PJ too and like it a lot. Cool thing about the PJ is if you want to adjust the ride height a bit or cant(tilt) you can heat it up with a blow dryer or head gun and make some adjustments. You CAN just send it back to Paul and he will make the adjustments for you no charge and I had to do just that after deforming mine pretty good. Give me a heat gun and LOOK OUT.....

Also look at Bear Creek holsters. Soft horse hide IWB keeping that sweat away. Nice looking, Good stuff!I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.
To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them.
