Yet another PJ Holster thread

Hi Gang,
If the package delivery system is kind I'll be picking up my new CM9 today. After spending quite a bit of range time with a friend's PM9 I have to say I'm pretty stoked up about my new sidearm.

After lurking and reading up on the subject here, I'd like to order a PJ aiwb holster. I think we have a tendency to like what we've got, so I'd really like to hear from those who have more than one JP retention style. Which do you prefer most? Standard clip, tuckable, or C-clip. I see advantages of each but cannot make up my mind.

I own several PJ holsters. My preferred carry for my CM9 is the Over the Belt Clip IWB with FBI cant, which I wear at 8:00 (lefty ). Very stable, pretty easy on and off without removing belt. I have another one that is tuckable with Velcro attachment for when I want to do ultra deep concealment with nothing visible at all. It originally was a J-hook, but I converted it myself because I found that the gun and holster would sag my pants down seeing as how the J-hook doesn't have any support on top of the belt. Paul sent me a C-hook to beta test. It solved the sagging problem, but I found that top ledge stuck out quite far and was very noticeable.

IMO, with my build (middle aged spread), I don't find the CM9 to be all day long comfortable in the AIWB position. Like all but the smallest semi-autos, it has an almost inch thick slide that is that fat from the muzzle all the way back to behind where you grip the gun. The muzzle end tends to dig into my belly, and the back end tends to print terribly above my beltline. My Taurus TCP does better because it is very thin. But my S&W 638 J-frame Snubby rides AIWB like a dream all day long in a $14.95 Stays-Put Ultra pocket holster. The thinness of the frame, it's rounded contour in the back and the angle of the grip makes it hide perfectly underneath my spread with an untucked shirt. JMHO. YMMV.

Thanks for the reply, JFootin! I appreciate the advice, the club badge (love it), and it's good to get my first greeting from a fellow lefty to boot.

I hadn't thought about velcro for a tuckable. That's a great idea. The turn-off for me with tuckables was always the exposed belt clips. I'd love to hear more about velcro tuckables if anyone cares to share. If I go that route it'll not be my only holster, but seems like it would be a good option to have in the wardrobe.

I have two with the over the belt clips. Shield and PM9. Be sure to get a good gun belt as they make a world of difference.
