Leather belt recommendations?

I want to find a new good quality leather brown/tan 1 1/4" wide "plain looking" belt/buckle for use concealed carry. I'm tired of the cheapy store bought "normal" belts. Pricing from $20 to $100 depending on the quality.

I wear Levi's blue jeans 85% of the time, and Khaki shorts the rest of the time. I "might" be able to go to 1 1/2" wide.

Any recommendations/links?

I've been a big fan of these guys for a long time: www.bullhidebelts.com. Made in America, good quality, plenty of variety. I have a belt and two holsters from them. Couldn't be happier.

I just bought my second Looper(also branded and sold by Blade Tech) Gun Belt from Kahr.com. I lost weight and didn't want to keep adding holes.

You can get one for $49.95 or more, depending on where you purchase it. They are 1 1/2"... actually just under that by maybe 3/32". Jeans are no problem. They come in black with a nickel-plated brass buckle or natural leather with a solid brass buckle.

The belts are reinforced with a layer of Kydex between two layers of leather. They are about 1/4" thick and they don't sag.

I've seen them at local gun shows for $50, too. You may find them cheaper elsewhere.

I chose the brown one because I like solid brass buckles... simple ones... and I don't like shiny ones, though I did polish my brass one. I've scratched mine a bit with clips on and off, but it feels great and holds everything up... pistol/IWB Minituck, magazine holder, and phone case... without sagging or being deformed... or cracking, falling apart like my Wally World collection of sturdy-LOOKING belts for $12 to $20. I've worn this one over a year and it's still straight as an arrow... no hint of sagging.

Have a look at the Galco SB1 1.25" wide dress belt. This belt has a heavy reinforcement between two layers of quality leather. The finish on the tan leather is a cut above the other belts that I examined and is very durable. I dress as you do and have worn mine daily for about 6 months with no signs of wear. It is very stiff but will take a set to the form of your body and becomes very comfortable. This belt is stiff enough to hold up your heaviest gun without sagging.

I have a Don Hume that is a great carry belt. It is oxblood (instead of brown), and am not fond of the color at all though, so I don't use it. Should have ordered black.

Doug at Bear Creek Holsters has been making some mighty fine belts as well.

His belts look real nice. Double stitched, nice and thick, roller buckle (which is very important for cinching up and undoing a thick belt) and I like those large, easy to find holes. Looks like you made a good choice!

I just made a right choice, too! A good old NC boy from Mt. Airy, the town that Andy Griffith's Mayberry is reminiscent of. I ordered one of his belts, black with black thread and the #9 roller buckle. He said he can have it to me by this weekend. Excellent!

Hey Wyntrout, I've been wearing a blade tech/looper belt since this summer and it is definitely my favorite gun belt. However, the kydex has begun to crack near the belt holes that I use the most! It sounds like yours has been fine.
