I'm a big believer of good gun belts, and have worn Galco's and Sparks for years, but I've got to put a plug in for the Cabela's Double Duty belt. I was skeptical that for under $40 I could get a good leather gun belt, but these are the real deal. Maybe not as well finished and maybe it won't last as long as long as my old Sparks, but it's almost 2 years old now and shows no signs of sagging or stretching. When it does, I'll pick up another on sale for as long as they keep making them.

Look at the 1911 rig on leathercreekholsters.com. Its one of the most beautiful belts i have ever seen. That belt is 2 1/2 wide but walter will make it in 1 1/2. Ordering one from him next week.

I just got my belt from Jerry Bissell yesterday. Right out of the package I'm thoroughly impressed. This thing is in my humble opinion everything a good gun belt should be. She's thick, she's rigid, the cow must have been on them blue pills.

          It's stylish but not flashy.

He was wicked quick too. About a week from first contact and during the holidays too. Got right back to me by email, he don't hear too good either, and confirmed that I made good choices.

I'd recommend him without reservation. His website is www.jbgunbelts.com and his email is listed there. Couldn't ask for more for 55 bucks delivered.

Some pictures. The only down fall is the belt makes me look fat. I told my kid to get angles that didn't emphasize this but he failed miserably.

I doubt I'll be able to see the day this belt rolls up like my current or previous belt and it was and is a good belt too.
This belt is more than nice enough to wear with my uniform as well, another plus.

Well, looks good! When you're seated your waist expands and looks larger... normal!

My belt acts as a small girdle in that position... holding things in.

Excellent point Wynn, I didn't think of that. Guess I won't start the Ultra Slim Fast diet just yet. Guess I'm tactically ok.

Momma always told me not to show all my cards, especially on the internet, course we didn't have internet when she told me that! Wonder how she knew.

Course who needs a 50 cal when you got a good 45 and a Kukri?

That Kukri will leave a bigger wound channel than any handgun round is capable of.

I had to google it - I was unfamiliar with it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kukri

Well, Bawanna, you and I are of the same opinion about Jerry's belts, his quick turnaround and what a great guy he is! I've had mine (a black one, looks just like yours) for a little over a month. Very comfortable and very rigid. It is thick, but the bevels along the edges make it fit better through belt loops. Makes my heaviest gun, my 15+1 Walther PPQ, not feel as heavy when I am wearing it on my waist. By comparison, my other belts sag with the weight.

I have found, though, that one or two of my holsters can't accomodate that thick belt even though they are made for a 1 1/2" belt. I have to use one of my other belts with those holsters, and on the Aholster Belt Holster I adjusted the rubber snap loops to fit a 1 3/4" belt...

                        Very interesting...

I'll take the knife over that slow ass 45, that might or might not even go bang. Actually looks like a bananna knife. U need to carve a nice set of grips for that knife: Just sayin.

I guess it is safe to carry cocked and locked, for IMO if u hear the hamme rfall u still have plenty of time to take the rig off ur side and throw it in the grass before it goes boom and anything comes out of the barrel. Not being a 45 fan, I heard that they say a barrel over 5" inchs is iffy in that the bullet might not have enough energy to exit the barrel. any truth to that Bawanna, Just sayin

Probably true on all counts. It is nice to have it available in case I need to crawl down the barrel to stay dry in a heavy rain storm.

Looks like lots of great options here.

Personally I'm very happy with my belt from 'The Belt Man.' http://www.thebeltman.net/

I had no idea how important gun-specific belts were until I bought one!

Do any of you guys with the Beltman belt have the velcro on the back side of it? If so, do you like/dislike it?

He is the only that I have found that offers it.
