Kahr Noob. Help with 1st holster purchase

Bought my first Kahr, a MK9. I need a holster to practice at the range and carry a few days a month. I was thinking Silent Thunder or Mitch Rosen CLP. I don't mind spending $ for quality but would like to keep this under $100. Any thoughts are appreciated and/or if you have something to sell, by all means let me know.

I love the Silent Thunder myself, should squeeze in just under the 100 mark. They do offer Law Enforcement and military discounts if that helps.

There's lots of good choices. Of course everyone has their own idea of what works best too, probably why there are so many choices.

I recently got the Silent Thunder IWB, although I don't have my CCW yet, but I can tell it is made well and will work well for me once I can carry. I may also want to get the Silent Thunder Fusion for when I am wearing a tucked in dress shirt, but it says it is not available now.

Remora! If you are able to get past the fact of what it is. I didn't believe it until I tried it. I now carry my P9 and TP9 in one all the time.

FWIW, I had a Comp-Tac Infidel and a Silent Thunder. I prefer the Remora to both. I preferred the Comp-Tac over the Silent Thunder. So check out the Comp-Tac Infidel if you don't think Remora will work, both are cheaper than the Silent Thunder. The Silent Thunder was hands down the nicest of the three, very well made, just not for me.

RE the Remora, for range work, you'll want the reinforced top (RFT) model. I think for the MK, you'll want the smaller of the 3C or 3B, just can't remember w/o going to look it up.

Reasons why I like the Silent thunder slim: It is light weight Kydex, it retains its shape, it has a leather lining inside to protect the gun, it fits the gun like a expensive glove yet draws very easily and most of all, I can re-holster with 1 hand, without looking to make sure it is going into the right place. When the gun reholsters there is a nice "thump" when it reaches bottom. How much better can a holster get?

I'll throw in a vote for the N82 Tactical Professional holster. Carried with my CM9, can't be beat for comfort, concealment, and retention.

All you need is the right holster for that MK9: the PJ IWB Holster. I carry my CM9 in one at 8:00 (I'm a lefty), which would be 4:00 for a righty. I tell you the truth; that super thin, 1 ounce holster is so comfortable that it and the gun disappear from my perception. All day long. I even took a nap one afternoon and forgot I had it on. Realized it when I got up. I have to reach back there and touch the gun to confirm it is there - no kidding!

Mitch Rosen CLP.

Wise choice! Many do not even know (some may not even have owned one), that it can be worn without a belt, AND it also works as an OWB! Yup, OWB too -- this is how I carry it OWB:

Wear one of those pants with 7 belt loops (Carhartt, Dickies, etc ), holster is worn on the OUTSIDE of the pants and behind the belt.

Mouth of Mitch Rosen CLP is reinforced, it will not collapse, it fits perfectly between the 2 loops that it does not shift around. This rig is comfy all day regardless iwb or owb.

I have purchased total of 4 of these bad boys for different weapons. CLP kicks ASSes!

Brian: For new, yes, $60+, they make a "kahr version" in cuban color which is ONLY available from KahrShop... if you buy direct from Mitch, it come sin 2-tone. I like the "Kahr color" the best.

But they are $40-ish shipped in the used market... out of the 4 CLPs I have, only one is bought new (for my Glock 26), all others were bought used

USED will be the best deal -- if you can wait, try GunBroker, eBay, and various gun forums.. otherwise, KahrShop or Mitch Rosen will be happy to sell you one.
