But some holster clips don't fit well around my heavy gun belt either. So I say just find a good stiff belt at a price you like, and go with it.

That's kinda what I did too. However, I keep hearing guys say how much better a good tactical belt works. Makes me want to at least try one if it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Perhaps someday I will. For now my 1 1/2" heavy leather belts work well and the holster and mag pouches fit well.

I've also heard all the 'get a good belt' comments over the years. Up until this year, I'd been using a couple of Columbia (outdoor wear) leather belts that were pretty stiff, but nothing like a gun belt. They worked just fine for Kahrs in a Remora or IWB clip holster. But once I started thinking more about OWB carry, they really don't hold up to that. I'm currently trying one of those 'tactical' belts. Picked up a 5.11 trainer (1.5") and so far I like it. I don't particularly care for the Velcro, pretty noisy. But all in all, it's an improvement for OWB carry. I've tried it a couple of times for IWB w/ the Remora and frankly I don't notice much difference from my Columbia belt. I do like the continuous adjustment over a belt with holes, but other than that, I could live w/o it for IWB carry.
