Belt Question Part 2

Hello again. In an attempt to avoid buyer's remorse, I tend to over research things. Got tired of over-thinking which of the suggested fine CC belts to choose and ordered an Ares IGL Ranger Belt (black). It looks like a good belt and the immediate availability didn't hurt. I'm hoping that you'll indulge me with your thoughts(good or bad). Thank you.

I suggest you take a good belt and stop worrying about it. I've always been partial to suspenders anyway. Consternation is next to to constipation in my dictionary. The next time you go to the men's, try to get a grip on yourself.

dont discount the value of a quality belt. And different if carry is IWB or OWB. If OWB you want a belt that is heavy enough to support the weight of gun and mag pouch without having to cinch it up super tight. Gets uncomfortable after a short time. And you need one that wont let your peace of mind flop around either.

If IWB is the carry method, then what you choose is more forgiving

I was properly being chastised, because I was guilty of over-thinking which belt to get, not that a good appropriate belt was necessary. The comments weren't mean and I deserved it. I ended up with and am quite happy with my Ares Ranger belt. I guess I was a little nervous about getting my CCP (Illinois) which BTW was just approved. I've now moved on to other things to over-think.

I'm pleased to learn you're satisfied with the belt after test-driving it a few months. There are lots of choices and picking the best can be confusing.

There's nothing wrong with gathering sufficient data to ensure you're making an informed choice. But, we need to keep it in perspective. A belt is belt. It's not a 50K car or a 300K house. Sometimes that's hard for us first-born to do. We'll never be accused of making a hasty decision!

Congratulations on your CCP. You must be one of the first, in your state. That fine belt will come in handy, now.

Cigarrodog, I'm glad your happy with your belt, but I bet it won't be your last.

I now own 4 gun belts, but then I'm a woman and want the belt to be not only functional but also to color coordinate.
I also ran into another problem. My belly is flat (which I like) so if I wear an untucked shirt my gun belt buckle sticks out and it looks like I'm carrying "something suspicious".
My husband and I are very conscientious about checking each other to see if our gun(s) shows (not just standing and sitting but also bending), and several time he thought I was carrying my gun up front when in fact he was seeing my belt buckle.
To solve the problem I bought a double thick tactical nylon belt with velcro instead of a buckle…problem solved. The belt handles even my CZ sp 01 tactical (my heaviest gun)
and is extremely comfortable.
