I've seen these "snagmags" in "handgunner" and on line, but I was wondering if anyone on the forum has tried them yet.

For those who aren't familiar with this piece of equipment it's a magazine holder that clips to your pocket like a knife but holds a spare magazine instead.

    Here's the web site www.snagmag.com

I prefer the PJ Holster Mag carriers. They can be worn inside or outside of the waistband. They are one piece Kydex with no rivets or screws and can be ordered with a j-hook or over the belt loop. Pockets are for knives, car keys, change and P380s..

AIRret, I bought one last year and used it most of the summer. A few observations:
      1. It's expensive for a flimsy piece of plastic.
      2. It takes practice to get it to work properly. It requires considerable pressure on the spur to sufficiently snag the seam of your pocket so it doesn't follow the magazine as the mag is extracted.
      3. The clip is riveted and cannot easily be sprung to tighten.
      4. It works best with jeans and heavy cotton duck pants. I had poor results with casual business attire, i.e. Dockers, etc.
      5. It isn't nearly as discreet as their ads suggest. Maybe if it was used with a single-stack mag it wouldn't show as badly, but with a full-size Glock mag, the baseplate was quite noticeable in the top of my pocket. It doesn't help that Glock has their logo emblazoned on the baseplate. This was a non-issue with my shirt untucked.
I noticed Gail was using one at MAG-40, last summer. Check with her for a second opinion. She seemed to like it. However, it didn't take me long to spot it.

        RRP,
        Thanks for the detailed reply.
I was especially curious about using it with a double stack.

I also label all my mags. (I number them so they get rotated through my EDC, and if I have a problem I know which mag was involved) and thought about that showing.

I use one & like it. I do agree that they are way to expensive for what they are. I do carry with it daily. They need to price them in the sub $20 range IMO.

I've grown partial to using a Remora mag carrier in my back pocket, for my Kahr mag anyway. Wouldn't work that well for a double-stack, but for anything single stack it works really well for me.
