  • Remora vs. Sticky Holster

Has anyone used both of these? If so, how do they compare? Which do you find more effective for something the size of a PM9?

Go with the Remora, you won't be sorry. I have one for each of my carry pistols. LCP. CM-9, LCR and SR9C

I have both, but different designs so can't compare apples to apples. But I like the Remora better, the material seems more durable.

I have both for my CW380. With my MK9 I trust the Remora more due to the weight of the MK as the Remora "sticks" better than the Sticky for me... I also like the options that Remora offers, which include linings, sweat shields and even spare mag carriers attached to the holster. My MK9 rides great in my standard lined, sweatshield Remora, and carries surprisingly well in my front pocket as well.... so my vote goes to the Remora. One other thing, if you order from Remora on their website, they usually have a discount code (for Columbus Day 35% off and a free magazine/accessory holder) so you get a mag carrier and a holster together.... Let us know what you decide and how it works for you....

Excellent. Thanks for the detailed information, and the heads-up on the discount code. I'll keep you all posted.

Just ordered the Remora. Got 35% off and a free mag pouch with coupon code Columbus. Around $20 shipped. Not bad at all.

Please let us know what you think of it, good or bad.... I did not think much of either type when they came out, I happened to pick up a Sticky holster locally and liked it for what it is. Doing some research on the different types of "clip-less" holsters, I liked the options Remora had. I took a long look at the reviews of each and ordered a Remora with full sweat shield for my CW380, turns out that it is not only a VERY comfortable IWB, but works as a weak hand front pocket holster that hides the outline of the pistol..... I found one unused online that someone else had bought that fits my MK9 and bought that one too. Like I said, for the CW380, excellent, but the thing is so light a 1/2" square of double sided tape would do.... With the MK9 and a regular belt, the Remora rides in place all sweaty day long if I want it to, and it is a pound heavier but not much bigger than the CW380, that is enough testament for me. The Sticky works too, but does not have the options I look for in a "clip-less" holster.....

FWIW, I push mowed my 1/2 acre lawn with a G27 in a Remora holster. It stayed where I put it. Comfortable enough if you enjoy a brick on your side ;-). Actually, it was fairly benign. I recommend trying a Remora for many pocket or IWB applications. I just got a 40% off any order email from them.

                      Remora vs. Sticky Holster

Own both. My remora lost its stickiness after about 6 months and wasn't carried everyday. I tried sticky for my sr9c and so far like it better. Not as rubbery on my flesh and just as sticky.

Hmm. My Remoras haven't lost any stickiness. Maybe you got a bad one?

I use a Remora for the Boberg, and CW/CM 45 whichever has the laser mounted on it. I like to carry up front about 1-2 o'clock, with the smaller pistols, that seems to be the least visible position, as far as printing or parts of the gun slipping out from under my shirt.

Idk. I have tried cleaning it a dozen times but just doesn't help. I figured they just break down over time. I mainly used mine for stirring the gun at home or in my vehicle and jamming between the seats. Carried probably 20% of the time.

Maybe cleaning it removed the stickiness?
