  • Quality Holster & Gun Belt Makes All The Difference....

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but this is an example of how a high quality holster and gun belt makes CCW'ing a large gun a breeze. This is one of my favorite EDC rigs. Sig SP2022 9mm, which is a large gun, in a High Noon pancake holster on a Better Belt 2-layer gunbelt with kydex reinforcement strip laminated inside. This holster and belt combo causes the gun to ride high and tight to the body, and with the forward cant, it conceals as well as any of my other carry guns. It's amazing that there is virtually no printing under a shirt or jacket. It actually prints less than my CW45 in a Lobo pancake holster, which is my next favorite carry rig.

This illustrates how a high-quality holster and dedicated rigid gun belt makes carrying a large-framed gun a breeze. A gun the size of the SP2022 would be very difficult to CCW otherwise.

Oh, and the knife on my belt is a SOG Snarl.

Quality leather does make a difference! My preferred leathersmith is MTR Custom Leather. I like his belt with a stiffiner added. My favorite holster is his dual carry model, convertible between IWB and OWN, although I have several different of his styles.

A recent departure has been a belt from Hanks Clothing. Their Amish CCW belt. It is made of harness leather and has been holding up well. About $30 dollars. It is a bit thicker than the MTR belt. I went with it only because I have been on a serious diet and belt length has been changing monthly. The solid leather is easy to shorten. When I'm done torturing myself, I will revert to the MTR belt.
