I've been wanting to experiment with Kydex for awhile and finally pulled the proverbial trigger! Here's pics of my first foray into the world of thermoplastic forming. It still needs some finishing but it is fully functioning. It has great retention without rubbing on the raised points of the pistol. I have to admit, Kydex is very forgiving as long as you don't overheat it. I messed up a couple times but popping it back in the oven brought the Kydex back to its original flat form.

DIY IWB Kydex for my CM9

No pix, yet.
I bought some 12"x12" .090" thick Kydex to try out for mag holders and holsters, but never got around to it. I tried modifying an XD45 holster for my Glock 21 SF and it "fits" but leaves a lot to be desired. I had sold the XD45 and everything else, except for the Wolff springs, and had no luck selling the holster. I noticed the square trigger guard and tried the Glock... it would go in and stay in place, so I used my heat gun and fiddled with it a bit and didn't look for perfection... just usable for quick use, but now that I added a light to the Glock, it doesn't fit again.
I really need to try to make something up for my Kriss V30 mags. I couldn't find anything that fitted those for carrying a few.
I just have too many "projects" and honey-do's that I keep putting off.

That looks good. Ive made a couple that look lot like the PJ holsters for IWB. Mine is not as pretty but works well. I like the thin kydex for IWB.The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.

Looks really good. I'd fire up the bandsaw and round off the sharp corners some, those will poke you. Round is good, don't bite so much.http://bawanna45.wix.com/bawannas-grip-emporium#!

That looks nice. What thickness is the kydex that you used? The only thing better than having all the guns and ammo you'd ever need would be being able to shoot it all off the back porch.
