  • PM9 on its 4th holster

One sign of how much I carry a pistol is how many holsters it wears out. The count on my PM9 is now 2 Desantis, 1 Stays Put and I started on the second Stays Put today.

The first Stays Put lasted at least 4 years, longer than either Desantis.

I guess that is what 15 or so hours a day most everyday of the week does.

Get a real holster, Al! The soft ones don't last long. You should see my pitiful Uncle Mike's Sidekick that I wear all day every day around the house with my P380. It's quite worn with plenty of holes worn in it. I can't find those any more and the replacement ones have that inside shield that catches my shirts and makes my gun show. Outside the house, when I'm not looking for MAX concealment, I wear a CrossBreed horsehide MiniTuck that I bought for my PM9. I have two of those and I carry everything but the .380 in it... P9, P40, and P45 now.

I tried cutting off the offending parts and sewing the two or three layers with a gathering or rolling stich, but that's a lot of trouble.

Impressive. I haven't worn any holsters out yet but I regret the day. It might be hard to replace my favorites. I've worn belts out tho. I need to buy a couple extra belts...

I don't have the Desantis anymore and would have to dig through the trash for the Stays Put. The seams at the muzzle end were frayed back, the first layer of material missing for a bit. For me, that was time.

I like the soft holster! I don't get bruises when I run into something...

I've had two Alabama pocket holsters crack on me over the last seven years with my PM9.

They replace them under warrant (after sometimes months of waiting), but I've now switched to a C-3 pocket holster.
