  • got a Silent Thunder for my MK9 (pic heavy)

After seeing Rob's post below I was intrigued enough to try a Silent Thunder for my MK9. I've always been more of a leather guy but recently started to appreciate the benefits of kydex. This holster seems to cover both areas nicely so I gave it a try.

Delivery time was two to three weeks, very quick. This thing is very nicely made with lots of attention to detail. Retention is adjustable and very solid. Draw is silky smooth. I like the adjustable cant feature so I can wear it appendix straight up or behind me canted. It's tuckable but I never indulge in tucking if I can avoid it. I wore it today for the first time. After a few minutes I forgot it was there. This one is a winner.

Standard disclaimer: I'm not a paid celebrity spokesmodel endorser, just a dude.

Wow, that is a really nice looking holster!!! IWB doesn't work too well for me, but I may be persuaded to give one of those a try.

Does Tucker make a paddle holster?

++1 for the Silent Thunder. I have the Silent Thunder IWB for my M&P 9C and just love it. I received the OWB (STX) for my 1911, just yesterday and I can't believe just how close in and concealed it is...I love these holsters.

I have a few leather holsters just sitting in my draw (like many of us) and I really didn't think I was going to take to Kydex, but with the leather lining, smooth quiet draw and think profile, the Silent Thunder can't be beat.

One of these days, I'll be ordering one for my PM9, just a matter of time.

p.s. Rob at Tucker provides excellent customer service.

The MK weighs 22.1 oz. without mag and the M&P 9c (see my post above) weighs 21.7 without mag, I'd say it's excellent with the weight of an MK and M&P or anything else for that matter. These are quality, excellent holsters. But like anything a holster is a personal thing and may not work for everyone.

All said, I have 2 Silent Thunders (one IWB for my M&P 9c, one OWB for my Dan Wesson 1911 and I now have a Tucker Cover Up Plus on order for my Kahr PM9. Guess you could say I like Tucker holsters.
