FWIW, Not my ad, caveat ad nauseum
3. C-96 7.63 Broomhandle Mauser. rare Von Lengerke & Detmold marked. All original. Original finish. All matching numbers. Purchased from a Savannah, Ga., gunshop in mid 1980s. Here is the story we got from the dealer. Again, this just the story. Make of it what you like. The dealer said he purchased the gun from a widow. The widow said her husband bought the gun decades earlier in a Chicago police auction of confiscated mob weapons. There are four small holes hand carved in the right grip, i.e. notches in the grip. Maybe 80 percent finish. I need to take photos of this. $1,750

KANSAS CITY, Mo (Reuters) - Two guns believed seized from gangsters Bonnie and Clyde in 1933 after a deadly Missouri shootout with police sold for a combined $210,000 at an auction on Saturday in Kansas City to an unnamed online bidder.
The bidder paid $130,000 for a .45-caliber Thompson submachine gun, known as a "Tommy gun" in gangster slang. The same bidder paid $80,000 for an 1897 12-gauge Winchester shotgun.Leave the gun, take the cannoli

This Universal Newsreel dramatically depicts the border patrol in action as they stake out and capture a band of would-be smugglers as they cross the Rio Grande River near El Paso.
Note the Border Patrol has a Winchester 94 or 92 and one 95. They take what looks like a 45 SAA off of a smuggler (although this can't be taken as total Gospel, since it's obviously staged).
Something to note when interacting with SASS detractors - from Ayoob's article The Gunfights Of Col. Charles Askins, weapons used by desperados included a Winchester Model 94 carbine in .38/55, an old Smith & Wesson .44 Russian and a Westley Richards 10 gauge loaded with Winchester High Speed #5 shot.

Also used by Askins or his BP friends:
customized Colt New Service .44-40.
lever action Savage Model 99 in caliber .250/3000
Remington Model 11, a clone of the Browning 12 gauge Automatic-5, with an extended magazine.
Winchester .351 semiautomatic carbine
Colt 1917 .45 revolver
Colt New Service .45 sixgun, its barrel chopped to two inches with no front sight.

This article alludes to photos of the weapons in question, yet doesn't run them.
The weapons are believed to be among those seized after a raid April 13, 1933, at the outlaws’ apartment hideout near 34th Street and Oak Ridge Drive in Joplin.
Five lawmen in two cars, armed only with handguns, descended on the apartment, and a bloody gunfight ensued. Two of the lawmen — Newton County Constable John Wesley Harryman and Joplin police Detective Harry McGinnis — were killed. Clyde Barrow, Buck Barrow and fellow gang member W.D. “Deacon” Jones were injured.
After the raid, police confiscated guns, a camera and personal items from the apartment, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The film in the camera, which was developed by The Joplin Globe at the time, was of special interest. The images on the film, which include some with the guns, were the first to identify the outlaws. Historians say the publication of those images in newspapers across the country spelled the beginning of the end for the duo.Leave the gun, take the cannoli

My Pocket Pistol
Here's a shot of my pocket pistol. It's a .32 ACP Walther PP.
I have a Colt 1911A1 (no photos, need to get busy with the camera) and I have a Thompson 1927A1 on order.
Once I have my Thompson, I shoot some photos of it and the Colt. I plan on submitting the paperwork to convert the Thompson to an SBR once I have it.
