  • I'm seeing a lanyard loop, that has to be an add on.
I've been playing with mine of late. I really like it. It does have a little hang up right before going into battery but only if you let the slide down easy like a press check. Any kind of force at all and it rides over and goes fine.
My son has the R1 Enhanced and his has it just a bit also, not quite as bad.

Still haven't figured it out. Don't hurt anything, just bugs me.

I put a Auto Ordnance Wide Spur hammer in mine with a little Greg Guidance. I do love a wide spur hammer.

Dietrich: For a fat girl you sure don't sweat much.
    Cue sound of Head slap.

      • Yup the MSH with lanyard loop is from a friend that stippled it years ago. Nice little part of our friendship to use regularly.

        • My custom Colt XSE Light Weight Commander.
I did the bobtail myself and then sent it to Rob at ACW for all the machining and plating.

          My STI Shadow 10mm
It started out as a 40S&W I sent the barre out to be reamed for 10mm, purchased some 10mm Officers mags and now Officers 1911 in 10mm.

          • That Colts awesome. Looks like some Box Elder Burl for handles.

I do love a bobtailed handle, just seems to work better for me. I've bobtailed 4 now I think. Still sweat profusely prior to and during the hacksaw treatment. Last one I used a dremel and a cut off wheel, wasn't any better I still sweat.

Chanting to myself, don't screw up, don't screw up, don't screw up. But you know all that.

There's a good story behind it (and more photos): https://forums.1911forum.com/showthread.php?t=569233

                  • It's a great story, a tremendous effort by dad for a no doubt very worthy son.

Beautiful gun and a great piece of photography.

I love what they did to the muzzle crown and barrel bushing, that looks splendid.

Juries out on the grips, somebody put a tremendous amount of effort into those. They look good and are already growing on me, but took a bit to warm up to them.

If AO has started blending all their front straps like that I might have to pick one up.

                          • I pick up this brand new Auto Ordance BkO 1911 up last March of 2016 . The grips on handgun not factor grips they where brown so replace them with set black ones came off my fathers old Springfield Armory 1911 witch I had no trouble putting on my new Auto Ordnance. You get black box witch you see with handgun one magazine all under $500.00 dollars. I bought this handgun at Budsgunshop.com witch they had at very reasonable price brand new. They done real nice job with this handgun compare my dad own stainless steel Springfield Armory 1911 Gi was surprise see how well compare to his handgun.
